K-Sport Coilover Kit, anyone?

Wow, someone get those and post how they are. :)

are these setups similar to ground controls, or are they more like teins.

A quick search turned this up... still searching.

Ksport Kontrol Pro Fully Adjustable Coilover Kits provide the ultimate in suspension technology featuring its 36-way adjustable dampening, adjustable spring perch, adjustable body and pillow-ball mounts on some applications. The Ksport Kontrol Pro Coilover kit has been designed with professional road racing in mind offering extremely high value and performance. *Front and rear pillow ball mounts*

I dont know anyone that has these installed on ther Protege but we do have a couple of people in the probe/mx6 world that have them installed. This is what one the people that has them installed had to say about them:

For those who are sitting on this one, I have to say that purchasing the K-sports were one of the best decisions I made for my Probe.

The ride quality is even better than I anticipated. Set on soft, the ride is firm but controlled and does not rattle your teeth when you hit rough pavement like the kind found on nearly every Michigan road.

These things are leagues better than the KYB/Eibach setup they replaced and the adjustability is there for track use. For the money, you certainly can't go wrong. I'll be uploading some pics to my website soon.

review from a probe http://forums.probetalk.com/showthread.php?t=1701115226

Funny that this would pop up on here the day I was looking for more info on them. Yeah the k-sport ones look quality and have a good price. I'm interested to know how they stack up against the teins tho. When I was researching I did find out that the spring rates were 7 kg/mm and 5 kg/mm f/r. Fo sho anyone who has these plz post!

ya, they have been running GB's on them for the probe for a few months now, noone has recieved theirs and installed them yet so there hasn't been any reviews, but i guess the 240 guys in japan have nothing but rave reviews (coming from the GB leaders) on the K-Sports, the others i've never heard of...

I just purchased the K-Sports and they're sitting in my trunk. I was hesitant to buy them given their low low low low... price. I mean if you look at it on paper these are comprable to JICs and are even more adjustable than most Teins (actually way better than anything that Tein offers for our cars: basic and SS pshh).

But my initial look at them is that they really do look great. Quality is a thumbs up as well. I just found out that their company overseas is called D2, which I have heard of in Hong Kong. They have a very nice shop in HK. So these guys are not totally unknown, and they do have racing exp.

I'll be installing these this weekend, and hopfully they'll satisfy my expectations.

Oh yea... Buy that ebay auction, I bought mine for $670 and I thought that was a good deal already. =T

Do these have a wrench to adjust the height of the car? I really don't see anything like that in the photos. What are those 4 little flat pieces of metal in some of those photos? Are they the height adjustment tools?

Finally, do these have dust boots? I don't think I see a dust boot in the photos.

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to do research and make sure I don't get stuck with something I don't want.

Mark,

Are these the same ones you were looking at a few weeks ago? I wish I could afford a set of coils, but I need tires first.

Yeah Anatoly, they are the same. It's just so hard to pull the trigger on these because there are no PROTEGE reviews. I hear abour people with Probe's and 240's but they aren't Protege's.

I keep asking all these questions because the Tien's I had on my Prelude were in the 2nd shipment ever from Japan and I thought I was getting a "true" height adjustable system with height adjustment tools but it was the TEIN NR system which required you to use a spring compressor and then relocated a colar on the strut then release the spring. WAY TOO MUCH WORK so I never changed the height of the car and I paid a lot for them back them. so I just want to make sure that I would be happy with something like this and it is what I expect it to be.

Mark

But are they compression adjust or rebound? It just says "damping" which usually refers to compression. There really is no point in buying a strut that does not have rebound adjustment.

ahhh Jeez...

Then Britt pops in here and throws out something that makes me even more confused :)

Would you mind explaining a little more Britt?
