Drive -- and maybe a picture of the drop :)
(drinks)

As soon as the car comes off the lift. We'll take a picture in the garage before trailering it to the Audio Shop.

The engine is still half apart. (crazy)

nice. how are these in comparison to the jic-magic's? is there any info on the spring rates and strut dampening? looks killer. I might get these when I tire of my illuminas

if i remember correctly -- the spring rate is 400lbs\350lbs and it has a 36 way adjuster ---

do i win :)

sure, you get to buy me a set of these. and I'll even give you my illuminas and spool springs

those look great. can't wait for soem pics of the drop.

BTW: what are you gonna do in the audio shop?

Front: 393lb. Rear: 280lb. Both linear. I say they would fit between the A1 and A2... They got the multiple adj. of the A2 but are Monotube (not inverted) and the A1 are twin-tube (not inverted). Also, the A1 don't come with rear pillow-ball mount and the KSport yes.

Gonna finish off the trunk with a couple of JL 13W6s

aluminum strut bodies? what size are the springs?

I don't know for the strut bodies, but the upper pillow-ball mount are. Springs must be of the standard racing size (2.5'' dia) judging by pictures and they offer custom spring rates like JIC.

do they offer custom damping for those springs, unlike JIC? do they have a shock dyno, unlike JIC? i'm trying to decide if these are more "show" or actual raceworthy pieces.

They are 36-way adj, so I guess they have enough damping to over custom rates like the A2 does. The mother company of KSport is D2, and they have a shock dyno. However, D2 is situated in Asia. I don't think this is 'show' or 'sport' coil-overs since they have the features of 'race' coil-overs:

1- Very stiff spring rates
2- Camber plates
3- Pillow-ball mounts
4- Height adj., lower bracket adj. and 36-way damping adj.
5- Monotube

I will buy mine within a month or 2, so I'll keep you guys in touch.

my questions sprang from the troubles people have encountered w/ JIC and "custom spring rates." JIC just slapped on different springs and sent them out w/out any damping adjustments- they rebuild/revalve the dampers in the US, but don't have a dyno here. and the damping range is very, very small- basically no change at all- so "36 way" doesn't tell me anything. the JIC damping, when tested independently, wasn't close to what was advertised.

i know that most serious autoXers won't touch the JICs, even though they're "race" coilovers. so now i'm suspicious of "JDM" type "racing" coilovers.

keep us posted on your impressions.

i'm pretty sure that the 240sx guys in japan swear by them for drift cars, etc. They have been around for a long time and have become a staple coilover in japan. I am seriously considering these over KW Varient 2's.... Half the price. DAMN.

Yeah I have flt-a2's and I'm regretting them because of all the issue's I've run into. I'm thinking about just getting some k-sports if they are good. I'm now wary of JDM coilovers, too, though. I should've just gotten KW's, but I'm very interested to hear how theses do. Has anyone installed them and driven on them yet?

I heard too that they were especially popular on the Nissan cars back there in Japan... They say they love the lower bracket adjustability because they help them have more wheel travael (remember that nearly all Nissans of the 90 have little front suspension travel), plus thy are a great value... I just hope I will like them!

Brianmcd: What kind of problem have you run into (except the fitment of OEM Racing Hart)? Thanx!
