Looks really good, Simon. So, I'm a newb at projectors, but the kit you used is basically a bolt in affair into the housing? Maybe some minor trimming to the housing then the projector sandwiches in with the large nut, no? I've got an HID kit already but projectors would be balling. I just never wanted to pay the ~$400 for MattV to make them.

I've never trimmed the housings for the Morimoto mini projectors, simple bake apart the headlight undo the mounting points that are already on the headlight and bolt down the projector. Lining them up IMO is the hardest part but that might also be because I'm a perfectionist. If you already have Hids you can add projectors for less then 150 to your factory headlights.

Damn these sound like my next project after turbo and new wheels. I do have 55W HID's though...

the 55w should not be a problem, I'm making another set this weekend and a set when the new headlights get here so ill make sure to take lots of pics to show how easy it was.

Wow justanothermp5! The retrofit looks pretty sweet man! Did you order new h1 bulbs to fit with the kit you got? I'm really considering doing this now just need to know if I need to order the H1 bulbs to work with the kit and my existing hid kit.

If you go with the Mini H1's, you will need new H1 bulbs. You can use your existing ballast.

Dam, got alot of attention over the retro lol but yea, there is not trimming needed at all to the housing. If I wanted to, I could take the projector out and put the stock halogen in right now, with no extra modifications. The projector just slides through the bulb opening, then you sandwich like a silicone washer on the back of the projector to the lense, and use the included adapter to tighten against the back of the reflector.

this picture shows everything. The back of the projector is sticking out of the box, the adapter is the first piece to the right of the box, then the silicone "washer" that goes on the back of the projector, then the locknut to the right of that. All the way to the right of the picture is the piece that holds the bulbs in, you have to remove it to stick the projector through the reflector.

I have a pic of the light output, but I still have some very minor tweaking to do before Ill post the pic.
I went to a car meet last night and everybody there was amazed at the light output, I like them so much, I might actually put the "TheRetrofitSource" sticker on my car lol[/QUOTE]

i like it a lot! looks great! i may consider doing this to my lx. how much did it cost you?

I bought the kit which includes the relay wiring harness, HID ballasts and bulbs, Projectors and shrouds.
Pretty much everything you need to install the kit, and it was $270 shipped to my door.

Well the way the harness plugs into the back of the bulb is like a 90 degree angle, so it might be hard to fit that plug inside the headlight, thats why I got the H1's because they have the standard pigtail type connection. and the D2S is like a few bucks more, but I mainly didnt get them because of the plug style.

These retrofits look wicked! Do you still have to retain the bulb holder to hold the projector in place?

The reason I asked was that the back of my headlights has broken off at where the holder is held in by a screw, if these dont need to rely on this, looks like im buying soon :D

Not exactly sure what you mean by "bulb holder", but I'm going to assume you mean the place that the bulbs sits. If so, then yes you need that, as the back of these projectors slide through the hole for the bulb, then an adapter washer is placed on the back of the projector to keep the projector straight, as seen here:

Just going by that photo, seems as though the original bulb holder has been removed, and this is what I mean:
