Just test drove a MS3 :)

Are you sure theyll release the 2008 in North America, because if this first 5,000 models do not sell out, they will be stepping on their own toes, not to mention creatiting another situation like they did with Speed6 where they are giving the cars away now, Great for us, but a bad business move none the less, I cant imagine Mazda making that mistake twice in two years in the same market.

Considering the official reviews and the overwhelming positive public opinion of the MS3, I can't imagine they would have a problem selling another 5000. I know that I had to go to several dealers in the Maryland area to find one. They just can't keep them on the lots. Even if sales are less elsewhere in the US, I can't imagine they would be drastically less.

Even if they do release a 2008 model, it won't happen in June. They may start building them in June, but the 08 model year doesn't start until September. They only release new cars early when there is a major redesign (i.e. New Ford F250, Escape etc.....)

... And if those cars were to be released in June, wouldn't it be a 2007.5 MS3 instead of 2008?

Well if they offered more colour choices and other changes then yeah, but if it's still the same car then it would just be more 2007 cars.

I don't think the Speed 3 will be a market failure like the Speed 6. It's a compact firey hatch, not a heavy midsize luxury machine like the Speed 6. The Speed 6 has more of a daily driver adult feel and look to it, and it is not an enthusiast car like the Speed 3. This car will be back for 2008, and selling well. However, I wouldn't mind it if fails. I got my Speed 6 for the same price you can pick up a base Speed 3 for with no options, so if they end up having leftovers in 08, and I can get one for like 18-19k, I'm gonna be all over that. Go ahead car fail, but it's not gonna happen. It's a more affordable car then the Speed 6, and is more popular and more known. The Mazda 3 is a much bigger seller then the Mazda 6, so it will be just fine. :)

Driving my MS3 after driving my Stang is UGLY. Stalling, bucking...basically I'm a n00b

Hehe, it's like night and day, isn't it? I kid you not I was about 100rpms away from stalling my MS3 when I bought it. The car was in the service garage, all nice and clean, ready to take home. I inspected the car inside and out, went through all the B/S with the loan guy, the tour of the service and parts area, & the introduction of all the features by my sales rep. (I know a metric ass-ton more about cars than she does, but she treated me VERY well). My sales rep. opened the garage door for me, about 100ft. away, I started her up and WHOOPS!

Thank god it was in the evening when the service & parts depts. were already closed and she was the only other person in the garage!
