.......everyone is having their sides on what exhaust system, how far back, how wide the piping, mandrel pipe bending.....on the 2007 mazdaspeed 3's

how about just changing that rear muffler.......

since the performance of the exhaust system is descent enough......what would you think if, i just replaced my rear stock muffler with an aftermarket one, like for example, an n1 or similar to that.......i love the exhaust system, but i miss that deep tone in an exhaust system.....

anyone would agree with this......

would the performance still be there, and will there be a deeper tone?

any advice, would be helpful.........

thanks...

the rear muffler is just a big resinator according to ripleys mufflers, the car has three resinators and two cats, 21/2 manderal bend pipeing stock. By deleting one or more of the resinators with straight pipe youl get louder deeper tone plus less backpressure. Ive deleted one $42.00 and it sounds meaner and louder and i can delete the next one when ever i want $42.00. Someone at exede said they have been test the car for performance and said that going from 21/2 t 3inch pipeing makes almost no difference since all if the backpressure is in the resinators and the 2 catilitic converters. So instead of spending $700 Just delete the resinators and get %90 or morre affect for just $42.00 per resinator.

hey thanks for the advice guys.....

and by lookin at the pics of some exhaust systems for the ms3.....

i might just first start at the rear resonator at the tailend of the pipe.....and replace it to a straight pipe and see how it sounds there....

and yea...im probably gonna keep the same pipe size 2 1/2 and just reuse the chrome tip......

and hopefully get a deeper sound.......and shiiiit for about $50 bucks, i guess i cant go wrong.......(drive)

I would like to know more about doing this if you guys can tell me any tips that would be great.

Does this screw with emissions to where I cant smog the car?

Do they have to cut the mandrel bent pipe to delete a resonator?

I really dont want to kill the mandrel pipe so does doing this hurt any of the system in any way?

Will there be loss or increase in performance?

i deleted the one in the midlle first and then the one at the tail pipe

the first one was louder and now the second is even louder and i can feel a power differnece too. If you live in houston i recomend Ripleys off of rayford sawdust road , they did a clean good job.(cool) I took pics , check it out!
