Just ordered Corksport SRI and Exhaust!!

Anyone know how much of a gas mileage hit there is with this combo?

And if I were to get the exhaust, do I need to get any new gaskets for the install?

Thanks,
-- Jonathan

If you are asking about our exhaust it does include the gaskets and hardware for the installation. For a hit on fuel economy it depends on your right foot. With cruise control on I was always able to get a little better mileage with the intake installed.

So here is my review thus far.. I have about 300 miles logged on the corksport sri, exhaust combo. I inititally wanted to just install the sri, do a review, then add the exhaust.. to evaluate seperately. but im impatient and with work and kids, time is not on my side so i installed them both. The immediate thing i noticed was a vast improvement on 2nd gear. I hated second gear. It always seemed to bog down on me and took forever to get to third. The CS combo has really helped in that area. Aside from this, the car definitely feels improved. The sound of the exhaust is beatiful. I used to have a Tanabe touring medellion exhaust on my Fit.. I thought that one was nice.. well this one is so much more mature sounding. If you want rattle race car sound, this is not the sound for you.. It is a deep humm, queit , then gets loud when you floor it, but not annoying loud. I also LOVE that its a cat-back. The exhaust lines up PERFECTLY. Even my shop guys were really impressed. They initially were going to charge me a more for the install because they said that everybody that takes them internet bought exhausts never fit perfectly so they would need to tweak and bend it to fit. To their surprise it lined up perfect and wanted info on Corksport. The SRI I feel is what is responsible for the 2nd gear performance gain. Overall I am impressed and happy with the two products, do not regret the purchase, and if I had to do it again, I'd get the same setup.

Thanks for posting up the review, very good! I've been tossing back and forth whether I want to get the CS exhaust (and probably intake eventually) or go for the intake and the AWR engine mount. I want to be able to easily hear what the car is doing, but also hear the kids in the back seat. I'd like all three but I have a feeling it would be just a little too much.

mykflo - How is the noise in the cabin with this setup?

edit: Also, are you running the exhaust with or without the race pipe?

no problem.. I'm not sure what you mean about "hearing what the car is doing".. I drive more by "feel".. but if it helps any, the exhaust in cabin is at its loudest off of first gear... mainly because that's when the rpms travel the most dramatic... my wife (who hates "modding") has yet to mention or complain about the sound. Not sure if that means anything to you. You can definitely hear it under acceleration. You should have NO problem hearing or having a conversation in the car. It may get louder as time and miles pass. but when you do hear it, its not annoying. when it is steady at highway speeds i barely hear it.. maybe loud of 1 or 2 on a scale of 10. Under acceleration, it will get up to about a 7.5 in cabin. The Youtube videos sound nothing like what it sounds in person. I have yet to hear it from the outside in a pass by.. i've only heard it outside while the car is idling and parked. I am NOT running the race pipe because of TX Laws. tho i'd love to...

Thanks for the thorough reply. Sounds like even with the race pipe it shouldn't be any louder than mine is now. Due to the rubbery clutch, slow acceleration, and soft rev-limiter I had a hard time driving the car by "feel", so I installed a cheapo muffler and now driveability is much improved now that I can actually hear the exhaust.

Got everything installed, exhaust tip looks great!

Had a chance to test out the intake and exhaust yesterday afternoon on one of my favorite twisty shakeout spots, and I don't know if it's just because the ECU had a chance to learn the new intake better, or if the exhaust made a big difference too, but just like mykflo said the pull in 2nd and third was SO much stronger. From 3k and up it really seems to pull all the way to redline more than before -- car is starting to feel quicker!

Really happy with the combo now that it is installed -- intake was a bit frustrating for me fit-wise due to too trying to fit the whole thing in there around the battery cables/ecu box and too tight of clamps and silicone hoses, but the exhaust went on without a hitch. Borrowed an exhaust pipe cutter from Autozone and had the whole thing done in about 2 hours. Silicone spray was key -- thanks Derrick!

Now my car looks way better AND sounds really cool. Not sure if there are really any more Corksport parts I can add to my 2 now, pretty much got everything. lol

Glad you got everything installed over the weekend. Are you going to the MazdasNW meet this week at northgate?

Yes I did

The stuff that came looks a little different than what is pictured on the instructions

I wish I had gotten the racepipe -- I also was surprised the parts that came looked different from the pictures. Install was smooth though, sound is great and the tip looks way better than stock!
