Just installed Custom FMIC, Weird Sound

Ok, listened to the engine again and it is knocking but only at idle, strange if you ask me. Also I'm at stock boost

mine does the same, seems that the valvetrain is loud at idle. I put in synthetic now and the sound has gone down. For a while I thought the car was not building enough oil pressure, but the stealership's explanation was that now that we are having cooler weather hear in canada its takes a while for the oil to get into the head....Funny, it made the sound since april when I got the car lol

BTW-try reving the motor while your under the hood to see if you can isolate the noise. I have half my airbox removed (to fit the injection pump) and I get a similar high pitched noise, I like my noise though hehehe

jeff ur noise is diffrent then ours, its probably the spooling...
and the vavletrain is normal

It Could be the Intake except that I had my intake on before and it didn't do it, only after my FMIC was installed, Also Now My engine light has come on but the engine sounds fine and no stalling and drives fine(Haven't put it into boost since the light came on)

But yeah it sounds like a VVRRRR Sound also, man this is weird stuff
as i said my friend got his after he installed the hardpipes, and unlike me he didnt touch his CAI ....
mine does the vvvrrrr at lower PSIs but then its goes away( or maybe the engine get too loud to here ) its really sounds like a leak but then again its holding boost pretty good vs before the vvvrrrr...

Yeah, my car holds boost really well, but the sound is all the way to readline. I don't understand why my check engine light came on though

Well, the check engine light went off today and hasn't come back on. I'm having a friend mechanic run a scanner to see if anything comes up, I think that I have a really nasty Vaccum boost leak
