Just How Small Will Bmw Go?

BMW already has experience with producing really great small scale automobiles. What would you say if I told you they were going to produce a BMW sized Mini - yes I know that sounds confusing, but If Bmw had their own small styled Mini car then they could compete with Audi's soon to be hot car the Audi A1.


According to 'Hemscott', BMW is indeed working on "a new small car based on the Mini that will compete with Volkswagen AG unit Audi's forthcoming A1 compact car." Their source for the new BMW car is from the cover of a new Auto Moto Und Sport magazine.

Just what could the vehicle be called? How about the "BMW City"- and it is speculated to appear in market sometime in 2010.

It will be based on the Mini. Maybe this is why BMW is trying to purchase Volvo from Ford PAG. Both Mini and BMW have a small SAV in the works.

That would be kinda difficult since it's RWD. The 1-series is derivative of the E46 (1999-2005ish 3-series) chassis if I'm not mistaken.

Mini = FWD and AWD. 1 series = RWD.
