Just got back from Dragstrip in Ontario

Just so you know the last guy who upped the boost on his MSP without a gauge blew his motor. In my opinion its just plain idiotic to up the boost without a gauge. But i guess if you have the money to buy a new motor than good luck. I mean you have a sweet new car and your taking a major risk pulling that crap.

Good Luck!!

High Boost

OutDriveU
I am aware, its not that high, and its not detonating. I have never hit the fuel cut. And I haven't touched it since I installed it. Now I won't touch it until I get the boost gauge in just to see where it was set.

Wesman, I want to believe you sir, BUT I ran 10 psi and open air filter, only ran a consistant 14.9X at 92.xx MPH. How can you possibly run over a half second faster ? not knowing your Boost level, the 10 degree temp diff woulnd not do it, and the track I ran was exceptionally sticky, with my tires at 20 PSI for more contact to the track.

I will scan my time slips, and ask you, please post yours. seeing as we had the same mods when we ran. :D

Not to get off topic, but i think your times are to slow for boosting at 10PSi and having a open air filter." I mean the MSP (STOCK) runs anywhere from Best 14.9-low 15's Stock With a good/Average driver. Your times should be anywhere from 14.5(best) to high 14's with running more boost at 10Psi. BTW good time still;)

I believe you, I ran a 14.38 at 97.39 mphand a 14.41 @ 95.66 mph about a month ago. The weather was about 65 degrees. All I had was a AVCR boost controller and running right at 10 psi. It would spike to 11 psi at first then drop to 10 psi. I posted a thread about it on here I think that the thread is called 1/4 mile times for msp. By the way nice runs.

Dexter the temp gauge was still reading half, so it wasn't literally a cold start. That would be some serious HP.

Cold engine,cool intake air=MORE HP!

Like I said before,NICE RUNS!
Matt:)

I can't take any of the credit its all Mazdaspeed and JoeP making it haul ass.

True!
But the driver does come into this somewhere!
LOL!
You may just be a better driver than some of the other guy's with the same mods running slower times. And yes,the air and engine temps do play a huge role in turbo HP numbers!
Matt:)

I don't know why it was so unbelievable. We got people here hitting 14.9 stock. So, 10 psi should be low 14's imho.

Get a boost gauge though bud. Too nice a car to ummmm.....blow up.

....represent!

Thanks for the concern boys, but I obviously have is set below 10 psi, I have never hit the fuel cut, and there is not a hint of detonation. The boost gauge is on order!

the fuel cut is not at 10 psi. it its extemely hot on a daily basis wherever you are you could be running as good at 13 psi easily without hitting the fuel cut.

Geez you guys should be lawyers, talk about going over the fine print. Ok I meant '10 psi' based on JoeP's explanation of it as it 10 psi given this temp, that humidity, this barometeric pressure, that air density, this frickin moon alignment. Wherever it is, I haven't hit it !

crank the screw up a few notches and when u feel like u hit a brick wall, u'll know then just turn it down a notch

great job..and thanks for sharing.....so many haters...its kinda sad to see.....

94 Octane +
Good weather conditions +
good tire set up +
a some balls (no boost guage)

and MOST importantly a GREAT driver

= the times you posted

Hey WES....how come you don't post more on the TOProtege.com board?

I'm a true believer in the phrase "You gotta see it to believe it"...Now, I'm not gonna go off the handle and say he is lying, but anyone can show you a peice of paper...I mean, if JoeP himself has only hit a 14.2, I don't see anyone matching him. Joe even had the full exhaust, different plugs, and 14 psi. I'm not gonna call:bs: but maybe someone else will...

Umm- I was 10-11 psi :).. I also had worse 60' times. His times are 100% believable and accurate unlike other claims I have seen on this board :). Also, he was icing down his intake and motor- worth a bit here and there- I just kept piss pounding mine all night :).

No offense- but people have beaten that in stock form. I know you have the MBC, do you have the FPR kit also (can't remember)? That will make a big difference in performance.
