Just figured I'd share the good news...

So...In yet another very earnest attempt by the company I work for (Listed below) they are offering yet ANOTHER retirement incentive to all the old farts that have spent 40+ years there to lower the workforce WITHOUT laying off young guys. (Such as myself)

This has presented me with a HUGE window of opportunity as the 3rd shift Committee Man for my Union has now decided to retire....why is this relevant at all?

Well, I am already a Union Representative, a steward, which is a one year term of office (Thus including ONE YEAR of Super Seniority). If I can land this Committee Man position (which is almost an assurance) I will then hold a higher ranking position and Committee Men hold office for Three Years. MEANING Three Years of SUPER SENIORITY. This would mean I have unquestionable job security for THREE YEARS...why the hell am I even mentioning this (drumroll)

I COULD KEEP MY CAR BECAUSE I COULDN'T GET LAID OFF!!!(dance)

So...sorry to make whomever reads this read so much, I'm just super, super excited at the thought of not having to part with my baby. Anyways, I'll know for sure if I have the job by about Mid-June so I'll keep ya posted...sorry for rambling, good day.

Congrats, bud. I'm actually backing off a little bit on some things I wanted to do to my Speed6 and Ducati because my fiance was laid off (Masters in Accounting & CPA license).

I'm just thankful to have a good job at this point.

She was a corporate tax accountant for a big public accounting firm. After busy season was over they cut three people out of corporate tax, three out of audit, and three out of another section, and then laid off half their clerical staff. That happened about 3 weeks ago. She's had a boatload of interviews and a few offers but she wants to stay in public accounting so hasn't taken anything yet.

Don't worry about my 'business'. I don't mind sharing. The internet offers enough anonymity for me.
