Just bought my Protege5

Now the cool stuff, I just purchased a 2002 Silver Protege5 (took pictures and the dang digital camera broke) this is my second day of owning it. The power is pretty smooth but not great so I have a few plans on it (spoiled from my motorcycles).

I pretty much plan on going with a few CF accents (don't really like/seen a bodykit I liked)
A system I'll probally build myself (stock speakers are pretty good to me unless mine got upgraded, I haven't checked yet)
Maybe lower w/ some 17's

and of course i/h/e ...and maybe some pulley's and a few other things
I don't want to dump like 10k into this car because I'll be making payments I figure after about 5k I should be very happy with it...considering I am already estatic it shouldn't be that hard.

When I get more batteries I'll post pics (nothing really yet but still my baby)

dude, $5k will get you a sick turbokit from either MAM or HiBoost and some forged internals and as EMS. actually like $6k with the EMS. welcome and hope you enjoy are little corner of the world.

Well I had a civic so I'm all down with everything

I just got done looking at more stuff...ok maybe more money will be dumped into it

I really need to meet up with some georgia people and start making some custom parts for this thing

its a great car with a fun ride. you might consider the turbo option or you could do an amazing suspension setup with just a bit more power and have something else (other than the bikes) to take on the twisties (rofl2)

Custom parts would be small at first,
Probally some sway/strut bars
I want to see whats available for this car and see what else can be made.

It all depends, I mean everyone here can make custom parts just depends on what they need. Most will be simple things so I don't have to spend so much cash on the simple things, I don't know a lot of metal working skills, but I'll take the chances and try and see what can be made.

Right now the lists is small , get the windows tinted and build (or find a nice) custom enclosure for the back. I don't want to just shove a big ol box back there, I was thinking of a box that would fit to where the rear cover comes up and follow the lines of the sides. Anyone know of custom enclosures?


That was my old civic ,I did have strut/sway and a buncha suspension stuff done, Stripped the interior at one point at another I had a 2 10's with all kinda crap (got stolen/parted out to take care of bills).

Now that I learned so much from toying with my little honda I'm hoping I can do this car right. Just gotta take the time to research everything seems like a lot of you have already done the hard work (checked out the diy forum) so I'm very impressed. I didn't think these cars had such a loyal following

Custom or modified parts are what we all want. I just completed a small custom job with a stock MSP engine cover. Adding more soon.

Senor, I saw the meet and unfortunately I work weekends fri and sat 1-9pm sunday 10am-6pm , and I have been reading on a lot of turbo kits (from this forum) I will definately look at your turbo kit. and for some reason the Porn link is tempting me....

Mondays and Wed. are free for me Tuesdays and Thursday after 2 are good...
I go to the University of West Georgia on Tue/Thur.

Like I said I haven't really looked into my own car yet,

But its stock, a head-unit was switched out and thats it,

Monday hopefully having the windows tinted (not sure if I want 20% or 15%)
and trying to get some DaveB rings from sport20 (if price is right) and then I am going to fabricate a sub enclosure for the rear and just keep on going till I run out of cash or die
