and I'm hoping to contribute well to these forums.
I cranked through nearly 1800 miles in 2 weeks, so it was time to get the oil changed. I read/printed the how-to, bought all the proper supplies, and did the change. Amazingly, I didn't even spill a drop of oil.
After putting everything back together, though, I noticed that the filter drain plug had a spec of 10 N-m, which I did NOT notice before. I used an Allen wrench, tightened it to a moderate degree, then gave it a solid 1/2 turn extra. Odds are I went above 10 N-m although I'm not clever enough to know how much.
So, the question is, am I safe or should I expect a cracked housing and an oil leak? Please let me know (thumb)
And, just to be sure, is it 22 N-m for the drain plug, 30-35 N-m for the filter housing, and 10 N-m for the filter drain plug?
