but this is different... the MP3 is an official car designation by Mazda... and is named after the MP3 sound file format... Motion Pictures Expert Group Layer 3 audio

MP5 is a submachine gun and the name is not used on any car I know of... using "MP5" will make the person touting the name sound like he's a macho wannabie to some people, and to others sound like an MP3 wannabie because he couldn't get one but want to be part of the crowd... calling "MP5" because it "means Mazda Protege 5" is inexcusable and does not pass that logic test simply because MP3 does NOT mean "mazda protege 3"

So, is there a gun called the Pro5 or P5? Just making sure I don't scare people when I tell them what car I have... especially if I'm in a bank

I hope that the 3 does well, but I can't imagine giving up this car. It is now very close to a limited edition sort of car. Only 2 years of production and such a beautiful product. The only reason to get a 3 is to try to be the first in your region so as to get sponsored. That is also a reason to leave the P5 because the aftermarket may become slightly anemic (sp?), but to that I call .:bs:.

IMO... I reserve the right to call my car and use my nic to express the Mazda Protege5 as an MP5...

I was trying to determine wether I should wait and get a Mazda 3 or get the Protege 5. +45 hp, + ?? tq, looks like a mini-hatch Mazda 6 (which I was going for in the first place...)

I am not sure. I've got a pretty good deal on a Protege 5 right now.

I am really looking into what type of afermarket support there is to make it get up and go a little faster currently.

paid down the loan enough to make it worthwhile.

I'd like to get a 6 wagon if they ever make one, but the
3 wagon is top of the list for now. I like the wagons cause it
can put the seat down and let me lab roam around back
there. for me its much more functional than the sedan.
although I like the look of the sedan a little better. Oh well.

i am going to give the new "mazda 3" a test ride though. i go test drive all the new cars. mazda actually pays me $25 (gift certificate) to do so!!! it's fun and i'd drive em if they didn't. i keep my eyes out each time i go by my stealership to see if the new "mazda 3" is in the lot yet!!
