Now where did I hear this one before???

Ohh yeah I remember 3 years ago.

While I am not sure that all the cars in that list should be moved down I support the move of the big list and the SS list but am holding back on commenting on the rest of the list until I see the 2010 plan.

It seems odd to think that the Mini Cooper S has been running faster than all of these cars.

Also, interesting to see a proposal to move the turbo Cobalt before we even get a chance to see what it can do. On paper, it looks like it should be faster than the Mini, but then, a lot of things look that way to me...

I'm gonna hold my tongue until I see what the whole plan is. Seems a little retarded to do this in half steps...

Doesn't matter what the whole plan is at this point. July is the cutoff for next year, so next year will be pretty shaken up regardless. If the rest of the plan comes in next month's Fasttrack, it still doesn't happen until 2010.

I don't really think that this really changes things, though. Same cars go from getting beaten by the ITR to being beaten by the Cooper S.

ITR to BS is pretty crazy, though.

All are currently just proposals and they can either do or not do them so 09 may or may not be shaken up.

Funny, I was just looking at the '07 Nationals results, and the fastest car left in DS from that event would be the Crossfire. The TT would be the only car moving down that would have been in the GS trophies.

...the fastest car left in DS from that event ...

There wasn't a 135 last year tho ;)

But, still, very true. There's still a lot of debate as to how fast the 135 will be. Open diff and a LOT of weight might mean not that fast, but I guess we'll see. We could see a lot of them out, though, since it's a car people might actually want to drive daily. :p

Since the good doctor recently picked up one while waiting for the RX-7 to be fixed we might get to see what one can do pretty soon.

That's right, I forgot about that. Yeah, I have a feeling that if anyone can figure out how to make one go fast (or at least throw enough money at it until it goes fast), he's the guy

I love how they propose to move ten cars to GS instead of just moving one car. If the 135 is going to be so badass (causing the mass exodus from DS), why didn't they class it with the M3's in BS?
I any case the Mini Cooper S will still probably be the ride for GS, but it adds some more interesting competition.

I'm assuming that the goal is to speed up DS, but that's just a semi-educated guess. And to do so, they're trimming some of the 'excess' out of there in anticipation of moving some other cars to DS (rally cars maybe? ;)). From what I read, they're trying to get some of the 'straight to ASP cars' and move them to stock classes (your Ferraris, Supercharged Loti, etc), so I'm figuring they're shuffling everything downhill to facilitate that. I don't know why they didn't decide to KEEP the ITR in DS though, instead of burying it in BS...

I only gave the whole list a quick once-over to see if they were adding anything to my class....and they didn't (cool)
Since I do most of my autoX with a non-sanctioned group, it becomes more a list of suggested classings.
HS stands for Hella-Slow!

Interesting....
Although i think moving the ITR to BS would frankly be stupid. No way it can compete there. I'm so sick of the Hype-R crap. I'll put an MSP up against one in DS any day of the week---they are most definitely beatable.

it's going to BS b/c they're trying to kill it...not b/c they think it can be competitive.

it can't go into GS, where it has a good chance of being an out-of-production, hard-to-find overdog...that's not good for the class (why do you think the MP3 was never moved into HS?). so instead, it goes to BS, where it won't be competitive. most Stock cars aren't competitive for more than 3-4 years; the ITR had a damn good 9- or 10-year run.

So what's going to get moved into DS to replace all the cars getting bumped? There will be like 8 cars left in the class if they do this.

rally car class maybe? That's just 1 of the RUMORS. Who knows.
