jolt when let off gas

so my car started doing this yesterday, whenever im above 3k rpm and i suddenly let off the gas the car jolts and the rpm fluctuates say im at 4k it will go 3,950 then back to 4k and back and fourth with the jolting of the car. hard to explain. and the speed adjusts accordingly with the rpm. could this be the egr valve? ive cleaned it before twice with break cleaner, i have 127k miles PR5 5sp. thanks everyone.

noone? its getting kinda bad, when i let off the gas the car jolts backward, i feel like its going to be the cause of death to my motor mounts

Sounds like your motor mounts are already bad. My car also does this and my mounts are shot.

Also, it is a common quality of manuals for some jerking to occur, at least in my experience. That's what happens when you suddenly let off the gas instead of slowly letting off.

well it started suddenly, and i just replaced my mounts about 20k miles ago with the stockers. and its realllly abnormally joltey, i tried to take a video but not good. it sort of seems like when i let off the gas fast the car doesnt realise it, and doesnt continue to pump gas, or in this case suck it though the vacuum while coasting, like it hesitates between the transition from pumping the gas (through the throttle) to the vacuum sucking the gas when coasting. not really sure if that metaphor even makes sense, but ill try to get it checked out at the shop when i go home from school (3 weeks eek) hopefuly it wont break any more until then
