Has anyone had any experience with these intercoolers? I have a friend making me piping i just have to purchase an intercooler and theres a few things i need to know.

here are the measurements and link to the intercooler i was looking at...

Core size: 25 wide X 5.875 tall X 2.75 deep

Overall: 30 from outside of end tank to outside of end tank X 6.5 tall X 3.125 at the thickest

also the inlet and outlet come straight out to each side, is that going to cause any problem in routing the piping due to space limitations?

i dont have the cash to drop $900-$1400 on a fmic kit, sorry.

my friend used one of his older models and did a custom kit on his boosted sol if you go to the 5 inch section on the main menu you'll see it in the pics with the black stripe in the center...this guy is legit dont worry and he had no probs with the intercooler..i was thinking of what i should do about my intercooler setup and the guy told me a while back of the site and i just forgot about it but im gonna do this as well im gonna go 8 inch kit not sure if i want polished or black...what you guys think?

People should always do what THEY want.... not what others think. I am more show, less sleeper, so I did not paint my IC black. Some like the sleeper look so they paint theirs black or leave the grill on. It all about what you like.

in my opinion, if you want it to look sleeper, go with black. if you want it to bling bling like "yo i got a big ass FMIC" then def go for polished.

if it were me, in the MSP, i'd go with polished silver because we're not exactly the fastest cars on the road (excluding some of the few on this forum that really are freakin fast) so it'll look good and be cheaper. i mean if it were a 94 daewoo legonza and i boosted the s*** out of it and put in a chevy big block 979034875 liter V8 i'd go with black for sleeper effect.

BTW thanks txmazdaspeeder for showing me these cores, i think i may just pick one up since i'm not going for startling HP numbers. if i were i'd go for a bar and plate type FMIC (thanks to ryanjayg for the explination)

Just had my custom FMIC installed last week. Went with the flat-black sleeper look. All you can see is the stainless steel hose clamps peeking out from behind the stock grate. All about the sleeper look baby!

I don't think you have much of a sleeper look with the body kit, spoiler, and oh yeah.....THE BRIGHT ASS YELLOW PAINT! lol
