How's everyone doing with this? Just wanted to see what your experiences has been with it so far...I have mine but haven't installed it yet because I'm debating if I should do it or have someone more experienced do it. Also, I'm going to the dealer to get my alignment fixed and talk about the hesitation/stumbling issue...so I don't know if I should put it in yet..I'm nervous about what they'll say if they see it...Is there a way to hide it?

Thanks

no point in taking it in to address the stumble, they cant do anything about it, you have to get the CAI to fix it
I have the boost controller in and its okay, not the greatest but it works

The MBC works just fine, its probably the best and cheapest increase to horsepower that can be installed.
Just don't go too far with the raise in boost. I have mine set to 9.5 PSI and have encountered no problems.

So the stumbling/hesitation is definately due to the intake system then...?

xsivspd...do you have any other mods besides your MBC? You're at 9.5 with no problems? Thats cool..

The only mods I have on the car currently:
1. JoeP MBC
3. Autometer Boost gauge.
2. My own custom air intake K&N mounted behind headlight.
3. Blitz Turbo Timer FATT DCII

Next week 3 inch exhaust going in from the turbo back.
www.magnusmotorsports.com
Later in June FMIC, 2.5 inch U/L and turboxs blow off.

And maybe by then take it to the track to see what all this accomplished.
The green talon is my brothers car being readied.

3" seems way, way to big....especially on the t25! but magnus is a great company...marco knows his stuff...

The GT25 in our MSP can support uo to 400 horsepower according to Marco at magnus, not to be confused with the T25.
The moto he subscribes to is 'why send your money twice?'

wtf??? you delete?

your version of the t25 is a ball bearing one..mine isnt...the t25, hit 400hp?! HA! the most you'll get out of it is like 260whp....im @ 16psi and im prolly @ 240crank...and since its awd...maybe 190-200whp

GT25 = Ball bearing

T25 = Sleave

The T25 is what the eagle talon/mitsubishi eclipse came with.

The GT25 is what the MSP comes with.

Ball bearing turbo's spool faster and can support higher horsepower.
GT25 is a vastly better turbo than the T25.

If you don't know, now you know.

ahhh, gotcha - I knew ours was ball-bearing but everything on the net about the car still refers to it as the T25. <shrug>

What boost are the T25's in those guys running? Their HP numbers are quite a bit better than ours as I recall.

dex i wanted to modify the post to have the stats of the ball bearing cartridge in comparison to the standard bearing. unfortunatly they beat me to it.
i didnt think that the "yup" would have answered your question completely so i wanted to give you the reason why. thought i was doing the right thing :( sorry.
the ball bearing t25 that is in the MSP is rated by garret to be good for 250 hp. again these numbers can vary on engine performance upgrades and efficiency.
for example with some simple mods to the head you can increase your output about 50 - 100 hp more at the same psi!
its all a matter of the proper flow thruout the ENTIRE sustem.
that is why i have said many times to the MSP guys interested in another turbo DO NOT upgrade untill you see what the capabilities of this turbo are. some people just want to increase the turbine and can be very well suited at the level they are at.
:D

please read the above post. the majority of these guys are running better flowing intakes than the MSP's and head work.
if you have ever seen some of the stoc manifolds in comparison to the mazdas you will see what im talking about.they have a completely different engine that flows better from the factory.

well yeah I'm aware of all these things, but my question was more along the lines of what # boost the gst/gsx eclipse w/ the T25 runs at stock?

What are your complaints about it? I love this, no one ever sends me feedback, yet they feel free to say "not the greatest" in a public forum :).. Not the greatest as opposed to a $500 EBC, or are you comparing apples to apples? Please provide details, even I am curious..
