the amp is a JL audio 500/1. what do you guys think would i be more satisfied with? (neglect the price difference)

*HEH* we all know this one's coming, but I think I"m first to it so HA! it's mine!

Get yourself an eD while they're still available. Actually, an o series would be prefect I'd say for your power range, and you'll get incredible sound quality.

All that aside, the thing you left out, is what size? 10? 12? and what kinda box? small sealed? sq sealed? sq or spl ported? does it matter to you? What qualities are you looking for in a sub?

Not an option. I said to neglect the price for a reason. It's just an opinion type of thing.(both 12's in sealed box) Pick one of the 2 and let me know why if you'd like. If I were thinking about what to buy next for the money/space/quility/etc.. I'd definately check eD out. But that's not the case. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I would go with the 12W6v2. it matchs the amp power wise very nicely. I have had the sub like 2 years. adn I let her eat. have had great luck with it. sounds good, but it will get down when you want it to. shake the car. sedan or p5? i

w6v2 for my vote.

poseur , I would have said it is you would not have..

I would have been the third to say it :)

...but in all honesty, with the two you've chosen, can't go wrong. Eclipse makes awesome subs and the w6v2 is very good as well. If you're gonna have the sub visible from the front then I say go Eclipse, but in an IB system where the back is showing I'd take the JL. But that's just me! :)

I think the JL looks hot. no center cap. the big surround. looks good IMO. and I think they make better subs than elcipse. but you should be ok either way.

Both are great SQ subs and both hit hard. In my experience you really can't go wrong with either...both look hot and sound great.

W6v2, quality sub, perfect match with that amp.

And yeah, if you can invert it, the basket looks the shiznit.

I've had both subs side by side in our show room for some time now. They really are equals. Both subs are outstanding.

THe JL is more flexible, the eclipse is a great choice if space is a concern.

you have a jl amp...go with a jl sub. we sell the w6's and i love the way they sound. its a very efficient sub, which doesnt matter because you have pleanty of power.
