Jerk instructor fired from Thunderhill

http://jalopnik.com/5466660/jerkoff-track-day-instructor-outed-on-youtube-fired

the Driver was on his very first Track day with his Speed3 (i dont know if it was a 07-09 or a 2010)... but MAN, the instructor is a freakin douche!

IMO the driver did well for his first lap.

It's a CWP first gen Speed3. He's got a post on the "other" forum in the autocross section with a bunch more information. By the way, looks like we're in the same neighborhood rocking the same car (I have a '08.5 TR Mazdaspeed3).

I bet $1,000 that this prick SWEARS to this day he said nothing wrong. I bet even listening to this tape (and I'm sure he has) he still would change NOTHING! Usually an asshole like this has no clue that he's a complete asshole.
"I'm just gonna watch your first lap" and then 15 second later insulting the driver about jerky shifts. Hello?!? It's a MS3, they're ALL jerky shifts! Haha.

If you are going fast your shifts aren't going to be butter. That is for daily driving!

My mom is the head instructor at two local tracks and if one of her instructors did this she would flip #@&%! He didn't try to teach the guy anything!

i think the driver did really good. everytime the instructor would try to criticize him, the guy would question him lol. damn right

I know that this has also made the rounds on the NASA forums, in all of the regions. This guys is an absolute idiot!!!

"Is this your first track day"
"yes"
.
.
.
"you completely missed the line"
"you dont know about smooth"
"your not supposed to hit the apex"

how the **** is the driver supposed to know any of this if it was his first track day...

If i were driving, I woulda gone balls to the wall until that ****** literally started crying to get out. then leave his ass at the furthest point from the paddock

+1000000 That was what I was thinking hahaha

This guy sounds exactly like one of those guys who "instructs" so that he can get free track time.
I always sit down with a student before we go on track in order to learn how much experience he or she has had. Some students don't know anything while some have autocrossed or taken a Skip Barber course or similar. If you don't know your student you can't be an effective instructor.
I'm very laid back when I'm instructing a novice. A novice student is usually trying to learn which way the track goes for the first few laps. Peppering him/her with a bunch of harsh comments will just about ensure he/she doesn't learn anything. And after the session you review the student's performance- debriefing, if you will.
The OP should allow other groups to use this video as a textbook example of how NOT to instruct.

Can't agree more! I always speak with my students as well, gathering how much knowledge they have. I always let them know what we are going to work on first and to make sure that they are at ease with me and the track.

Communication is key obviously, this individual does not have the ability to teach and should not be allowed to instruct anywhere!

Obviously the guy didnt know what he was riding... when he said "you completly missed the line" i'm confident that he was in/very close to the best line for a FWD car. Anyway, he got what he deserved.

Your FIRED Jerk!!

That's one of the reasons I bought my MS3; more and more students are bringing FWD cars to the track and I wanted to make sure that I wasn't giving those students bogus input.
