JBL GTO Amps?

I'm looking to build up a sound system for my protege. 6.5" components up front and probably some infinity 5x7's I got from the contour in the rears. I found a local guy selling a JBL GTO 75.4 II. Rated at 104w RMS x 4 at 4 ohms. That looks nearly perfect for amping all 4 doors with good power.

So I guess my question is are JBL amps any good? I am not looking for a high end amp, just something that will drive some good clean power to some nicer components.

I am hoping to find a head unit with higher volt pre-amps so i can keep the gain down on all the amps for sake of keeping them cool.

I have one of the Infinity amps (JBL is same thing) and I have been pretty impressed. Seem to be pretty good stuff

The key to buying used audio gear is... NEVER pay more than 1/2 the original price. The only exception might be high end audiophile equipment (of which JBL is not).

So if the amp works and he's selling it for around 1/2 the price of buying it new, it's probably a good deal and will work fine for your install.
