Well, I have worked out the details of where I will install the module itself. Now all I have to do is do the wiring. The one I have is the 2-channelversion. I may start today. More to come. For those who do not know what the J&S is, here is a nifty little link right here:

No, 60 mm (2.4 in) and I probably won't have to turn it up. It will get to at least 7.5 PSI on it's own just because of freed up restriction.

With the J&S, I'd turn it up to about 9psi. You won't have to worry about detonation. Just turn up the fuel pressure and open your pockets at the fuel pumps.

keep posting your progress with the J&S unit wiring install, try take some pics, cause' thats the next thing im gonna get after the spool kit.

If you only want the timing control unit, it's only about $525, if you want the pretty led's that tell you it's retarding, it's an extra $175 I think.

sounded like alot more then a timing retard from the link?
It is, I should know, I sold it to him. I just cant wait to see how it performs. I may get one for my next car.

So would this Safeguard fix the MP3's timing problems when running a turbo set up? and in the website description it says its always trying to get back to stock timings wouldnt that be bad for the mp3?

The latest

Well, I have 4 of the connections done. I had to locate a few wires, but it's all good now. I do have one thing I am wondering about. In the schematic (The J&S), there is the line going to the knock sensor. The Knock sensor has 2 wires: Red and Blue/Yellow.

I figure that I should hook to the signal wire, unless it is the type of sensor where it doesn't matter. Anyway, here are the latest pictures:

Nope, the exact opposite. It's good to have full advanced timing, it gives you more power. But when under full boost, sometimes you are going to get some ping, so the J&S only retards when it hears it, so you get to keep your advanced timing. Good thing.

so is this J&S SafeGuard the thing we've been looking for? will it stop all the ignition problems and stuff. Then all we have to worry about is the fuel...

Here is the deal. If you just want timing control, the J&S is the cheapest and best way to go. If you want timing control and fuel control, you should buy Terry's Microtech or the Link like he has. The J&S will control timing actively, but not as well as a piggy back. But it is good enough to get you over the 200hp barrier. Not far over it though. I'd trust the J&S up to about 210 whp, after that, I think you need total control over the timing and the fuel together.
