i bought the car on a whim this past april and now i've decided to sell it... the more i drive it the more i notice the con's of the car vs. the pro's...

pro's: looks great, nice handling characteristics for the price, decent utility...

con's: noisy (road noise, wind noise), very harsh sounding engine when cold started, suspension idiosynchrocies (nice handling car 99% of the time but sometimes the suspension bobs up and down under certain road conditions)...

i just bought a 2003 bmw 330ci over the weekend and i've decided to sell the P5 and probably buy a subaru wrx since it's a great performing car and has AWD for winter use...

anyways, if anyone in the NJ area is interested, mines up for sale... i'll post details in the "For Sale" area...

thanks,
thomas

I feel for you.

Right now (with all the manufacturer's incentives to buy a new one) is a terrible time to be trying to sell a nearly new car. Unless you put a bunch down when you bought it, you may well find that you owe more for it than it's going to bring when you finally find someone to buy it.

The old adage about it "losing $5,000 the minute you drive it off the lot" has never been more true than it is today - If you have more than 5,000 miles or so on it, you may have lost more like $7,500.

At any rate, your few months of ownership are going to turn out to have been very expensive, I predict - Probably close to $1 per mile. Hope you're happier with the Beemer - You'd hate to go through this again in a few months.
