btw those ES stickers on the side of ur car are pretty easy to remove I removed the DX from mine with some hot soapy water

Incase you're intending on really fooling people making them think you have an MP3 ;)
 
hey i have a mp3 and ill donate a swift kick to the head....
sorry about that but it somewhat erks me when people do conversions... esp and doing it with the addition of altezzas!!

grrr... seriously if you put mp3 badges on your car, to me its no better than honda boys putting type-R stickers all over their mom's civic.....
im not trying to be an a**hole but seriously

don't you think if her has done everything possible to convert his car into an MP3 he can badge it so? I mean whe only diff between you and him is the ECU and sway bars, and he hasn't badged his car as an MP3, but when he gets those I'd be pretty secure in just saying he's a silver remake of an MP3.

If a Integra dropped in a type R engine, recaro seats, and the lovley suspension with a wing, I wouldn't be phased if they added a type R badge, I mean, if they can add the engine, why not the badge? If the engine is faster, chances are the badge looks better too. They are trying to look like a car they love - and the badge is part of the look. But yes I disagree people badging their car when they haven't done anything but add like, a type r wing or something.

the only difference is mine is a REAL mp3 and not a copy. even with every single mp3 part (steering wheel, floor mats, seats, dash peices, shift knob suspension tires wheels plastic motor peices and emblems on motor , exhaust , stereo, ecu etc) im sure that he doesnt intend on doing all that just making the outside look like one and slap some bageds on there crooked and tell everyone its the limited silver edition.

its just basically make the mp3 look cheap beacause his still won't be it unless hes got the cash to spare. conversion always end when it comes to the interior. hopefully you can see my point that no matter what he puts on it its still not an "mp3" its still a protege ES with mp3 parts nothing more.

well all I'm saying is, your MP3 is just a protege ES with MP3 parts as well. It's just put together by mazda, and not him. I'm sorry but you are not a different car because of ground effects, you are just a different trimline, a DX can be made into an ES by a dealership if they replace enough parts, he may jsut not be affiliated with MAZDA is all
 
you cna never turn a car into an "MP3" you can make it look like one, you can make it perform like one. fact is ITS NOT ONE..
im not so sure that you will understand because you do not own an "mp3". im pretty sure that im not the only mp3 owner that feels this way.
 
Easy minus, I don't think he's going to put MP3 Badging on his Protege, He said he liked the look of The MP3 and that's pretty much all he was going after. And he isn't changing the spoiler so that's a dead giveaway right there. I don't mind that he's making his car look like an MP3 and I wouldn't care if he did put on a badge that says MP3. He can't call back to mazda and get his production number, cause he doesn't have one. The point is, the only people he would fool into thinking he has a special edition Silver Mazda MP3, would be people that don't know anything about an MP3. To which I could care less what they think. And Cruzer, its a very nice conversion. I likes a lot. But I don't konw about those tail lights. Wanna swap and see if stock MP3 lights would look better :). J/K Anyway, i don't mean to make any one mad by my statements, that's just how I feel. I realize that you feel differently Minus and you're entitled to that. But I don't think it's fair to cut a guy down for doing what he wants to do. JMO

Minus, don't worry about me putting on the badges cuz I don't
like them at all. If I had an MP3 I would have taken them off.
I prefer having a nice clean look. I'm even thinking about taking
off all my badging in the rear and just leaving the emblems. I
don't ever say I have a limited edtion mp3. I always say I have
an ES with an MP3 conversion. And another reason I have not
taken of my ES stickers on the sides.

Oh and I have done 2 things internaly to my protege to match
the MP3. You already know I changed the pedals. And I have
changed my black center piece to the silver one on the MP3. I
want to also change my seats but its hard to find someone who
changed out their seats that had the side airbags. I believe most
MP3's didn't have that option. So I prolly won't be doing that
swap. I also do have the MP3 sways both front and rear but
don't have the money to have them put on by the dealer. They
want my arm, leg and head for installation ($400-$500 labor). So
I'm saving up for that one. Well anyways I think you get my point
that I'm not pretending to be a limited MP3 but did a conversion
from an ES.

I am totally digging that shift knob. Mmm.. it's so pretty!

I can see why Minus is a bit irked. As laid back about it I am on the outside, there's a little part of me that takes offense to any MP3 lookalike out there.. including laser blue and vivid yellow P5s, and the Mazdaspeeds! But you can't win 'em all, and the original 1500 will always be the original 1500.

But the car looks super good and clean, keep it up! Ignore all the silly bashing about the 'tezzas, if that's what you like, then go for it :D I think they look good on silver cars anyway.

I saw Rich's car in person at the Life Plaza meet after an Auto X event. Very dope. Rich, I'm glad you kept away from the tailights in the 1st pic :D
