what are the possibilities of finding or even having custom made an Individual Throttle Body set up for the 3rd gen??? im seein all the honda guys doin it now and i love the look and the perfomance gains. where would one of these be had, and would it be too expensive? thanx

corksport is the only one i know of remotely even playing with throttle bodies on the protege.

youre looking at upwards of 1500 bucks, kiddo. NA isnt cheap.

ya i figured. but with all the new stuff MAM and other companies are working on i thought i might ask and see. i would LOVE to have this for the Protege!!!

Captain: what does corksport have???

ITBs are cool and you could probably get some fabbed for a grand but that woule be cheaply made probably and its needs to be quality. A larger TB would be a more cost effective approach.

this has been discussed... , they have a setup available for the BP engines but no such luck for the FS as of yet, and custom ITB's have been researched and are far too expensive a mod for the average protege owner.

There are a few different companies that make IRTBs, and all you need is the custom manifold(still would cost over $1500), but remember that you have to have stand alone engine management. You could get away with MAF or MAP if you made a sheet-metal manifold around the velocity stacks, but it would kind of defeat the purpose.

I change my mind everyday between Link and E-Manage. I want the drivability and ease of installation of the E-Manage, but I want so badly to be able to expand to the quads in the future. Flyin Miata can even do map presets so I can hook up the Link and fire it up first try.
