Hey Guys.
Im new here. Just became a proud owner of 2002 P5 couple weeks ago.
Car needs lots of work, so will be posting pictures soon.

I just changed the factory stereo, to aftermarket player.
Its all works. However today, when i stepped out of the car, I left the player on for 5 minutes, while car was off. Afterwards as i was leaving the parking lot, car stalled 10 seconds later. And wouldnt turn on, wouldnt even click (like in case with dead battery).
However 10 minutes later it turned on OK, and it drove fine. But i noticed that whenever i crank the volume or there are heavy bass in a song, stereo sounds like CD is skipping and stereo lights are dimming as well.

I have a feeling that has something to do with the power. Battery or alternator.

More info:
Previous owner didnt show much love for the car, and it wasnt started for past year.
As a matter of fact when i was buying it, we had to jump it, twice.
My buddy, while checking out the car, suggested battery or alternator probably needs to be replaced. However after dropping the car off at mechanics, my mechanic change lots of stuff but said that battery an alternator are running fine now (i doubt he actually tested them)

So At this point i dont know what to do. Search showed similar situation involving battery, alternator, belts. Does anyone knows what it is? Or a way i can check which is the trouble?

Thank you in advance

I'd say get a new battery, although that's just me and I'm not really someone you should necessarily listen to. I know that dimming lights is usually a sign of a voltage drop but I haven't heard of that happening without a powerful amplifier drawing a large load. Also were these issues happening before you got the aftermarket radio? If not then I'd double check the aftermarket wiring in case you pulled a Clinton and put something where it aint meant to go.
