I noticed the center caps real quick and was gonna mention how nice they looked. I think those wheels look ******* amazing on there like that, close to stock, but enough of a difference, and subltey so, that it looks super ******* cool man. I love it, like, so hawt. Lowered just a bit would make it look so much hotter, but even for stock ride height they look killer man. very noice, very noice!

i'm running 215/45/17's also...anybody have experience lowering this size and +50mm offset?

I'm runing this size & offset and dropped 2" and no problem 99.87% of the time

can get it to rub ...
- in the front if you corner really tight and fast (like in a cul-de-sac)
- in the rear if you're really loaded down and go over a bump (rubs on inner wheel well lining, but no big deal)

(keep in mind I have a sedan - slightly more clearance on the outside rear)

thanks for the kind words. i've long since parted ways with the rims, and the car. i still like the way it looks.

if you're interested in the centercaps, shaunmp5 made them. if i remember correctly, they are the OEM Lexus caps with the "L" shaved off, and a vinyl Mazda sticker in its place.

What/how did you do to have the center bores opened up? I found a good set of snows on IS300 wheels but I don't want to get them if it's going to cost me an arm and a leg to have them modified.

The Centerbore needs to be modified to 67.1mm. Also, be sure that they bore it deep enough, i think our hubs are longer than the IS300's. bore it at least 15 mm, i would say 15.5 to be safe. i don't remember the exact dimension i gave my machinist. also we can not use our P5 lugnuts for these wheels, although the threads are the same. Toyota/Lexus uses Mag style lugnuts (not our tapered acorn style) with a built in washer on it. i bought 20 of these on a guy from ebay for about 50 bucks.

i don't remember how much each rim cost to bore...maybe around 30 bucks each? so have around 200 bucks on top of the getting the rims to make sure.

So you just took it to like "joe-bob's machine shop" or something?
It wasn't a place that specialized in wheels or anything?

These are aftermarket wheels, so I think they have the regular conical lug nut seats. At least they looked like it when I glanced at them. (poke)

oh, so they're aftermarket wheels but formerly used on an IS300? not stock IS300 wheels? then i have no idea.

yeah, i just looked through the yellow pages for machine shops, and called around to see if they had a lathe big enough to do wheels.

I actually found a place that does them. Guess how much.
$30 per wheel.
