is to tight to bad?

So my type s bov is sounding great but sometimes stalls, I adjusted it once and only stalls under hard fast drop in rpms so I tighted it a few turns more. Now I lost my squeal and it sounds like im chocking duck gasping for air. However it wont stall at all its rock solid at 700-900 rpms. My question is, could it be bad to have it really tight or is the squeal or chirp the only loss?

if it's TOO tight it won't open under lower boost. tightening it ALL the way would be for high boost applications. adjust so that you can idle correctly and it blows off with the 'whistle' at the boost setting you like (i'd personally set it so it only blows off around towards mid-higher end while on boost as blowing off all the time wastes gas mileage as well as gets annoying). that 'chocking duck gasping for air' sound is compressor surge. that's pretty much what a bypass valve or blow off valve is there to eliminate.

compressor surge is boost/air pressure already created from your engine has no where else to go when you let off the gas and the throttle body plate closes but back towards your turbo. since it's already spinning at mach speed having air come back at it trying to force it to spin the other way can be defined bluntly as.... BAD. haha :)
