Friday night was gay as hell. I got off work and I was driving on the highway to my friend's house. The speed limit is 60 mph but I admit, I was doing 70 but no more. A pig hides under the bridge in some gravel and spotted me so he pulled me over. Walks up to my car and says "Let me see ur driver license and insurance. Boy ur lucky u had ur seatbelt on." So then I ask him what I did wrong and he tells me that I was doing 76 in a 60. I didn't argue with him and I was gonna take it but then he ask me how dark is my windows. Ohio law for window tint is 50% for the driver and passanger doors while the back can be as dark as u want. Well 5 days after I brought my car, I got all my windows done at 50% all the way around. I tell him 50% and I showed him the receipt and then he goes "Ok, sitback and relax, I'll be right back." Then he comes back with a tint meter and tells me to roll my window up a little and then tells me I have 40.8% tint on my car. Everyone looks at my car and doesn't think it's tinted. This cop was being a total dick. Yes, I am asian but no, I am not going to blame it on my nationality although normally I blame everything on discrimination and my friends actually think this is discrimination. Anyways, can anyone help me out?

unless it was a dealer add on for your specific car, there was no factory tint

Howd the cop know u were asian if you had tint? This was on some other post, this asian kid said he got pulled over cause he was asian. I say those cops must eat there carrots and have some great eyes. no offense, just curious.

I believe the car comes with no tint, unless asked for it at the time of purchase. BTW Ohio law must be pretty strict.. over here our Ontario law is 35% on fronts and whateva on the back parts, even though I pretty much milk it, with my 20% on the fronts and 5% on the rest of the back parts. The law over here states that as long as a description of the drivers can be given, then it's OK, hence the 35% any darker than that and they won't be able to give a deatiled descriptions of the driver.
The reason for that: If your car is stolen and it's used in a crime (robbery, drive-by, ect..) ppl will be able to identify the person behind the wheel and therefore, clears your name as the driver at the time of the crime.. but if witnesses can't see the driver and give that description, then what's to say that you weren't the one driving when it happened? So I guess they have a point there, but maybe in Ohio there's a different rule of thumb

I never said the cop pulled me over because I am asian, but the way he talked to me and crap. I even gave him a courtesy card and he told me to save it for next time. I just felt that the cop was a dick and in some way racist because I've had cops pull me over when I was speeding to homecoming and that cop was really pissed at me but even him kinda let me off easily and I mean I never seen a cop that mad walking upto my car.
Anyways, no I didn't request for any tint to be put on my car from factory but there was 10% extra that came outta nowhere which I don't get.

Georgia dropped their tint law last year, as far as i know you can go as low as you want for now, it use to be 35%, mine on my P5 are 20%

Yeah thats one of the reasons i went with 20%, and to keep the sun from cracking the dash

Yea I'd like to see some silver p5's with 20% I am debating on going 20% or 15% and just wanna be able to see the differences, would really like to just meet with some people. I'm like a giddy school girl now...my car is gonna own in like 6 years when I can afford it lol
