Is the Dashhawk still worth getting if I get an AP?

it really does render the DH obsolete considering there is no more support for the DH

It may not be getting any more updates, but I'd say it's far from obsolete. The features it already has are still very useful, especially the warnings and the ability to monitor many different parameters all at once.

i have both and i use my dashhawk all the time more then the AP the dashawk can disblay more then one function at a time and you can adjust the color to your taste. the dashhawk is far from obsolete.

I'm hearing that displaying multiple parameters at once is one of the favorite features of the DashHawk. What does everyone typically monitor?

I'm currently showing actual AFR, boost/vac, and boost temp. I have another one set up with boost, boost temp, and knock retard. With the DH you can make multiple screens that will show different things. For example, screen 1 you may just have AFR and boost. Screen 2 you might have MPH, boost temp, revs, and fuel level. Screen 3 might have just different temperatures...coolant temp, boost temp, intake temp, etc. Screen 4 might have engine load, gas mileage, and fuel level. You can then easily cycle through the different screens with the up/down buttons

there is also the aeroforce scan gauge, that does what the dashawk does but is in the shape of a 52 M gauge and mounts in most gauge mounts. I had the dashhawk before and didn't really like the bulky niss of it. So after i get my cobb i may be getting the aerofroce scan gauge.. just another option

I don't believe it datalogs though.. Theres no way to connect it to your computer if it did anyway.

but with the AP data logging now, i'd use that for when i wanted to log...
the gauge does log but only spits back out on the gauge itself..

Kind of an old thread, but Auto...how exactly did you mount the DH? I just recieved mine and it seems to be in the "way" alot. Now, im used to having a boost gauge in the location that you have your DH..just curious. Thanks.

I have mine sort of in the same spot as Auto but closer to the cluster, where it drops down. I don't even have it secured. I just have routed the wire around the column and tucked the rest under the cluster, It doesn't move at all.

Lots of people put it in the cig lighter area or right behind the steering wheel in the middle of the gauge cluster.

Ditto. Mine is wedged in the dip behind the steering column, butted up against the instrument cluster. It's prefectly positioned between the 0 on the MPH, and the E on the fuel level. All info, all the time, with no hassle. I just routed the wire down to the OBDII port recess, tucked a bit, and voila. The thing only weighs 2oz or so, it never moves, even without velcro.

That said, I don't understand now how you could live without it as a general car enthusiast. Not only is it a "sleeper" boost gauge, but all the damn diagnostics will work on any OBDII car! In my family, I have become "CAR MAN". It's nice. I'm also "TAX MAN" as I am good with turbo tax and Schedule C contractor income tax. Not that that's relevant here... (bolt)

I think it has to work with a CAN BUS car, so not all ODBII cars. Didn't work in my mom's 2000 focus when it had a code. So basically most cars about 2003.

Not that that has applies here but just something to consider when other people have codes and ask you to clear them.

Here is a more updated pic:

This position really is the best place, IMO. It doesn't block any of the speedometer or temperature gauge, and the gas gauge is still mostly visible. Only the very Empty level and idiot light are obscured from view, but if you move your head a half inch to the right you can see it just fine.

Pic is not taken from eye level, btw.

Rest of the interior for fun:
