Is my rear suspension shot?

2003.5 MSP - Titanium Grey - rocking the stock look for now
I have noticed that the rear of my MSP is sitting quite a lot lower than the front.
I don't even have enough room to fit 2 fingers between the tire and the fender. Hitting any big dips in the road it will hit the fender, and is ripping chunks off of my tires and bending my fenders. The suspension has not been lowered, so I am not sure whats up with this...

Any ideas?

bump for a good problem.
I would say your springs are shot, probably the dampeners too (since struts don't last long without springs). You don't happen to have a couple dead bodies or several bags of concrete in the back do you?

ive never heard of springs going... but i have heard of blown shocks... its a possibility your shocks are blown.

It sounds like ur rear shocks are shot. Try to look at the shocks if there is liquid or really ugly looking then they've gone bad. How does your car drive? Bouncy or rough?

I had a recall on my MX-6 because springs were failing. This was happening mainly in the rust belt due to salt on the roads, but nevertheless, they fail. It's my understanding of suspensions that springs hold the car up, and shocks dampen the bounciness of the spring. This is why you lower a car with "lowering springs" not lowering shocks.

IDK about that, springs will eventually loose their ability to hold the pressure of the car thus leading to the springs wearing out...but if your car is not able to recoil from a bump then I would say its the strut...
