Mazdaspeed 3
I'm considering get a lancer 2009 ralliart to replace my speed 3. my 3 is plenty quick, but I think I want to start fresh with a new car and not mod at all. plus ralliart is good with snow, not that expensive, probably same price as ms3, it's a sport sedan, i think I'm more of a sedan kinda guy than a wagon. I'll miss the space though. The mazda dealerships sucks. I'm hopin mitsu is better. Would I be downgrading if i do this?

Downgrade in power, yes. BUT, with essentially a detuned Evo engine/Evo IX AWD drivetrain you get a pretty decent car all year round. As far as modding, it will be a "baby Evo" so you know all the parts are going to be there (don't know if that is a good or bad thing).

As far as Mitsu dealers, it seems to be similar to Mazda, some bad ones, some good ones.

I've considered this as well, although the one definite downgrade is interior quality. My next car needs to be an upgrade in that department, I dont want to take a step back to cheap plastics and a rattling dash.

yeah, I agree with both statements. the new lancer is definitely an improvment in the interior department over the old one... however it would be a downgrade from the MS3. Even with the 2.4l engine, it would also be a power downgrade. Some people hate the new "shark" styling, some love it, personally I fall into the later category... but hell man, go test driving and see what you think... thats really all that counts in the end..

it is a sharp looking car, at least from the pictures. As far as the mazda dealerships sucking ass, i wouldnt bet on mitsu being much better in that department, i think cookim6 is right on, plus they are building a bargain performance car here. at the projected of price of 25k or so they are going to be kind of strict with what mods they will let consumers get away with. they have to be if they want to keep it a 25k car. thats my $.02 atleast.

I'll test drive it when it comes out, but will probably buy if i decide to go for it in a year or two. I hate the rattling inside the ms3 too.

this might be just me but if your buying baby evo for performance and awd for 25-26k, id rather spend a bit more and grab evo for about 6k more. That's just what i would do. I hear people are getting new evo for 31-32k.

i inquired about the evo x already and their gsr base without sight and sound package...basically a bare exo x is 31k...that's without all the bs they add on it so it'll jump to 35k after they butt **** you. hehehe I'm pretty sure there will be demogrphics who only needs the power of the ralliart and not really care much for the full evo.

Mitzu dealerships are the WORST! Known fact! For the last 3 years Mitsubishi has considered pulling from the US market all together. If you buy a car and they do pull, you are screwed AND, they are the worst of all manufacturers for warranty claims.

You know what, normally I would have agreed with you, but after dealing with a few myself and hearing some of the horror stories I am pretty sure Mazda is just as bad!

No way, this is my 3rd mazda in 4 years and coming from Hondas. I have had ZERO issues with my Mazda dealership and service and have been nothing but treated well even with mods... Every makers Forums runs and talks about the same BS with their dealerships cause they are modding and hurting their cars based on the mod. Of course that isnt warrantied and when you argue with them about it they are going to be pricks, you get what you ask for.

If I was in the market for an EVO or even this thing I was look real closely into the BMW 135i which I believe starts at 35k. Thing is really quick!

dammit why couldnt they have made the Mazdaspeed with a fmic! Since they went with the tmic, they could have at least given it a hood scoop or air vent to make it look cool!

yea a hood scoop for a tmic is rice
