If you plan on going with a 5 channel amp I would go with a deck that has 3 preouts so you independently adjust your subwoofer from the radio and have independent front and rear fade. Now this isn't saying you absolutley need this, I just happen to think it is a great added feature. I like Alpine, Kenwood, and Pioneer. I think you said you were interested in adding monitors in the future. Any Kenwood, Pioneer, or Alpine that has changer controls will allow you to add an aux input adapter to let you run the audio throughout your stereo. Speakers is really up to the listener. I may like a certain brand and you might absolutely hate them do to diff. listening habits and likes and dislikes. I personally like Infinity, Polk Audio, and MB Quart. If you have some money to burn then check into Focal, Diamond Audio, Boston Pros, and Dyn Audio.
