Is it technically possible?

Why use the Familia AWD? The RB26 comes mated to one of the best AWD systems ever. If you wanna go through the trouble of fitting the RB26 to a Familia tranny, why not just stuff the whole setup in there.

RB26tt

I am not familiar with this engine. Who makes it, what are the specs on the engine, and what car does it come in??????
Thanks,
Zane

Yes the RB26DETT is a Nissan inline 6 twin turbo motor found in teh god like skyline. Lets do mazda to mazda here guys and not turn into top secret in the US.

Mazda-2-Mazda

Unfortunately there are not a lot, if any, Mazda engines that produce the type of power we are "dreaming of" we are sort of limited. On the other hand, let's look at the Mazda/Ford partnership.

Take the new engine from the Mustang SVT Cobra. 390hp/390ft-lb
in a car that only weighs in at 3665 lbs., take that and throw it into a car that only weighs 2716 lbs and you have the power you would need. Throw in a Supercharger (bigger) or a twin turbo charger if that is more your style and you have a land rocket.

Now comes the hard part. Fabricating a trannie to handle the power, converting the MP5 or MP3 to RWD and keep tires on the car instead of gooie, smoking, things that once resembled tires.

There is a dream

The 6 speed wll do, I believe its a borg warner unit or you can use a tremec tranny. both will handle that much power and then some. Boy, I sure do miss my 5.0 :( 300+ ft. lbs. of torque at your service!:D

3) Anything else I want to do... :D

I am thinking something along the lines of an FE3T. :) If anyone else knows what this is, do you agree???? ;)

If you are talking about 450hp to the rear wheels, then the answer would be Yes, I agree.

Actually the new cobra engine is supercharged with a water cooled intercooler. it is the same motor from the SVT Lighting. ....and as for the FE3 idea we have pondered that before and yes it will make 500+ hp on stock internals but getting it to fit in our cars woudl be a pain. custom mounts for the motor and tranny, custom axles, stand alone, custom piping, cutting welding but hey if thats your game go for it.

nice Zonda v12 there Syzygy (would you like a vowel?), but I think a ferrari F50 would do nicely.

THings to do:
1. Wash my ferrari.
2. Kill myself driving it.

Considering I come from a rotary cult... I'm more inclined to drop in a 13B or even a 20B (read:  )

But, also coming from the Miata realm... the FE3T sounds nice also :)

Now I just need about $10K and a month of free time...
