Is it possible to remove the power window buttons?

While getting her food at the drive thru, my wife spilt a coke down the inside of the driver's door on her 2007 CX9. Now the window buttons are sticking. Someone told me I could remove the buttons to clean under them. Is this possible and what do you need to remove them? I really don't want to pay for a new switch assembly if I don't have to.

Thanks in advance.

They were put in by Mazda, I'm sure they can come out once you pop off the door panel.

mford1970,
Of course.
Send me a PM with an e-mail address.
I will send you a couple pages of workshop manual on how to remove door trims.
Disconnect (-) battery terminal while you clean electronics/wirings.
After that you probably need to reset auto up/down windows (look up onwers' manual)

I will send them to you when I get home.
Once you remove the interior trim, you should be able to figure out how to remove the window control switches and clean them.
The manual does not go into that much detail.
