Is it normal for the "zinc plating" to be worn already?

Installed my brembo rotors last week and they are all ready looking like the stock rotors did. The nice silvery look is almost gone where the pad meets the rotor. Is it supposed to happen like that?

I guess it makes sense....after all the pads are scrapping against the rotors when you apply the brake, but I just wanted to know for sure.

its perfectly normal... the plating is there to keep all the parts that DONT touch the pad from rusting... you'll never get a rotor (unless its not made of steel) to sto prusting where the pad constantly rubs/polishes on it.

though to make that rust go away all you have to do is drive around the block, and hit the brakes one time.

Alrighty, thanks.

arent you the guy that paid 200 for all four rotors? did you fix that noise problem?

I didn't think any of the brembo rotors were Zinc plated...just coated with some silver s*** like stock rotors to keep rust at bay around the hub...Are they a shiny yellowish appearance? Either way everyone else is right...even the zinc plating wears off on the contact patch...

Ya im the guy.

As for the noise, yes and no. Sometimes the noise will come back for some odd reason but it will go away. Then maybe come back, its really random. Kinda crazy. Im going to change my pads real soon anyway.

I think the noise will be there,
cuz some of the brake dust will
be trapped in the cross drilled holes,
and that's is what is creatin' the noise...
Some guy told me....

anywayz, do yo u stilll have the product
number for the (F/R) or ur rotors?
and do all brembo comes in zinc plated?
someone told me the Rotors for 93-97 Probe GT/MX-6/626
will fit P5...is that what you got?
