Is 300 Hp Possible With Msp ???

werd!

the STI OWNS BTW!!!

it will be covered again and again and again and again and again......

if you want uber horsepower buy ans SRT-4 (HAHA start that up again, hasnt been around in a while lol)

there are pics of MSP drag cars. Personally I think FWD Drag cars are lame...but I think it cool now cuz I see a car I like!

Yeah 300hp MSP is defantely possible...it'll just be alot of $$$. Im not much of a 1/4 mile guy i like real racing with real road course. Auto-X is badass! So thats why I love my MSP so much it has amazing handeling!

From motor Trend mag! Your proof that we have the best suspension!

Sure 300hp is achievable with the FS you will need to go through the propper steps to make 300hp not instantly kill the engine though.

Titanium springs and valves
271 cams
crower rods
pistons
crank
550cc injectors
HKS F con
FMIC
t28 BB at 1bar
and a MAF that can flow more air

-That should get you in the ball park

FYI- any engine with enough money thrown at it can make good numbers. I just think it can be done much cheaper on another platform.

The stock engine can handle (with proper tuning) 250 WHP daily driven.
Springs, valves and cams are NOT NEEDED
Crower does not nor will they make FS rods
CRANK? the stock one is forged. Also the Rods are forged but just cant take too much cylinder pressure.
440cc's are good for 325WHP, dont need 550's. But it wouldn't hurt if you can control themn well.
HKS does not work on this car
FMIC is a great idea.
T28 is a great upgrade also. The stock unit is good for about 275 at the crank without going to extreme boost on the stock internals.
Really the MAF is a problem.
Hiboost and many others have the right idea with the completely seperate fuel and ignition system run in parralel with the stock ecu to maximize the power.
Then if you really want to be safe get forged rods and pistons for 1350$ and really have fun.!!

Damn perfworks seems like you know your stuff. I'll hit you up when I decide to begin my first step towards forged internals. Thats going to be when my powertrain warrenty is either voided or gone. I wouldn't even know the first step twords forged internals...thank god for this Forum! I just want 220-250 whp.

250 whp+racing beat suspension=badass!

Didnt we have the same thread 3-4 days ago.. msp making 300hp

Not to be a dick, but this info is covered time and again..
actually, we covered this about 2 weeks ago. see the date of the start of this thread, it was just brought back up from the dead ;)

I really like the STi cuz I see alot of Evos in orlando. Our local mitsubishi dealer has 6 in stock. The EVO is a good buy but the STi is hand built, DCCD control, 300hp and 300lbs of torque. I would probally get an EVO because even though sticker price for STi is $30,000 there is usually a $2,000-$5,000 mark up cuz of its limited production #. I would much rather spend a couple more grand to get an EVo over an WRX. They want $24,000-$26,000 for a WRX here...thats way too much!

screw the STI, why don't we all go buy a lambo or a porche or sumthin. Why cant a thread be started about a persons power goals without someone saying to go out and get a _____ if you want to make power?(Rant sorry)

hell, even if I could pay the extra money for one of the other cars mentioned I still wouldn't. I like the style and rarity of the speed. I'd build the engine up to 300+ keep the car stock on the outside and **** 9 outta 10 cars on the road. Once or twice,(Wakes up from daydream) and then garage it while I am waiting for a beefier tranny.

Is it possible...yes...is it FEASABLE without blowing a rod? Probably not...our cars were not meant to house that much power. Also, half of any good car is always the driver. Screw the speed when you have some teenager behind the wheel that takes the car into a tree or grinds 1st or 2nd gear off the line. Just my 2 cents...

gotta love them sterio types....
ive seen just as many older people grind gears.. and lose control and wreck as i have teenagers...
i wish some people would through some facts into what they say rather than just leave it at steriotypes.

no offense.. just seems like every thread theres a person through a sterio type dayum 16 yo ricers with there aluminum wings and altezza's...

(raises hand) I will be ofer 200 whp right after SEMA convention (nov 2-7th) :D THAT will be on stock internals, and STOCK TURBO, and STOCK INTAKE.

Only mods: DP, upped boost, and engine monitoring. (oh and flashed)

Once my FMIC, and intake are done, easily be at 230-240 at the wheels. :D

hrm... i have no clue what i'll be at.. but as of next week i'll be cracking my engine open FINALLY.. if mazda gets all the warranty work complete...

the engine will be cracked open to find out exactly what is wrong with it..
i'll be replacing the neccessities...
as well as forged pistons and rods... ion fmic and exhaust.
with whatever money i have left over at that point...
possibly head port and polished...
upgraded fuel system..
whatever 6 grand will get me towards the motor...

i have no clue what i'll be pushing at that point... hopefully i can run 15 psi daily and 18 - 20 at the track...

im going all out on the motor with the money i have..

i'll have to save about about 100 of the bucks to take it to the closest dyno, once complete.

so project msp here i come.

I'm currently working on getting 300whp, next spring I will have 260whp for sure, a dealership in my area has a 03.5 msp with 260whp, that is close to 300bhp. I'm doing the same mods as the dealership about $5000 in upgrades. I'll keep you guys informed.

ND4MSP

Don't get me wrong I love my Mazdaspeed. I just think you took our feedback way outta context. We are not saying the Mazdaspeed sucks or dising the guy on trying to make his MSP run at 300hp. I was just saying the STI is one of the best car to get if you had around $30,000. Its the biggest "Bang" for your buck...just like the MSP. We already had this debate on another thread...talking about, "The best $30,000 car."

The STi is super rare! It is also limited production, even less units then the MSP becasue they are hand built. Even though it looks like a WRX with better performance...umm just like the MSP. To tell you the truth I'm super happy with my MSP! I am a big rally fan too! Im not dising on MSP or anything...sorry if I got you pisssed.

that the same one thats on sale on ebay claims 280 to the wheels evo and sti killer etc etc etc thats been totalled and all the rest.

Well, If I decide to go forged, the turob upgrade I will be getting will BOLT directly to the factory mani. It is good for 400 whp, AND its not larger then a t-3 but bigger then a t-25.

It is a VERY VERY rare turbo, found mainly in pairs on Corvettes, and is a full cartrige Garret Japan bearing turbo. :D

Can you guess what turbo, or what vettes it on ?
