i have a CX7 sport w/ no navi, but w/power seat. i want to hook up my ipod to bose system. is this available at dealer? is it run off media button? do u control ipod off of stereo/steering wheel or ipod? is it installed in glove box or on outside near stereo on mount? i think it would look cool on display...especially since my interior is black same as ipod:) sory so many questions but just trying to figure out everything before i make a move...
thanks

this ipod thing has been beaten to death already, you need to search about this... yes, the dealer DOES sell an ipod adapter kit

i know it's been beaten, thank u, i did search, but it seems everyone is talking about ipod w/ navi...

- anyone without navi get the hookup at mazda dealer...?

Nav really has nothing to do with it.
You can get the iPod adaptor but the Mazda one is really not very good. You're better off with the Neo or something like it. As long as you don't have Satellite radio, it's not a problem.

yeah, the mazda adaptor's a b****. It is activated by pushing the CD button twice, and has very limited and confusing control of the ipod. in my opinion--total waste of money.

thanks 4 info dudes, i'm new to the whole i pod thing. only reason i wanted the mazda 1 is so it's covered under warrenty, not sure if i get an aftermarket 1, if that will void part of warrenty...
- do the aftermarket ones run off media buton, and do u control playlist by on stereo or on ipod...? again, thanks guys...

i don't know about the warranty,

audio link does not run off the media button, but you can control de fwd and rwd of the songs thru the stereo, the wheel or the ipod.

full functionality is only available from the ipod itself.

for more details for the audio link go HERE

and for the FlexPed go HERE and HERE

I don't think even the Mazda one works off the Media button. I think it works by hitting the CD button twice (could be wrong on that though). But I've really heard awful things about it.

Don't know about warranty either... but I highly doubt an aftermarket iPod adaptor will void your warranty.

...so it looks like the audio link w/ the flex pod is the way to go...!:)
seems easy. do they make the flexpod for just a regular ipod, or nano too...? my wife is going tomorrow to either get me the regular or the nano...i like the nano better for the gym, but like the regular ipod better for vehicle, although even 500 songs on a 2g nano is enough for me...7500 on a 30g reg ipod is crazy for me...i think if i could get a flexpod for a nano, i may do that...

Personally, I'd probably get the Neo with their mounting bracket. The Flexped one doesn't turn me on at all.

I couldn't live without 30 gigs... and I just bought my husband the 60 gig iPod for x-mas. 500 songs seems like a lot, but it's really not... especially when you start to hear the same stuff over and over, unless of course you're always going to manage and change your playlists (which I personally hate doing).
