ipod fm modulator vs audiolink

I'm going to buy an ipod and I want to know people's feelings on doing it via the FM Modulator or the audiolink adapter. Has anyone had much luck with the modulator? If so, could you recommend me one? I know there are tons of them out there ranging far in price. I have an 07 Mazdaspeed6. Thanks.

Do you have satellite radio? If so, you'll need an additional part if you go the Audiolink route. I'd recommend going that way, the signal will be much clearer, and you'll be able to charge while you drive.

I do have satellite radio, but I rarely listen to it.. and I dont pay for it. I am still living off the free "6 months" they gave me when I bought the car. I have had the satellite radio for almost a year now without paying.

What additional part are you speaking of? Something that allows for both the ipod and sirius to work? If so, I dont really care about the sirius, once i get my ipod that is all i will be using.

If you don't feel like keeping SAT then you've got a few options, check out the thread stickied in this section for more info. If you want both, well, you'll have a hard time figuring out what works. Best of luck on whichever kit you decide.

I am using a XtremeMac FM modulater and have yet to justify any fixed installation. I have considered it for added text and controls, but this modulator works very well with the Mazda head and everywhere else I take it.
