iPhone 5 mount

Hi Folks, new here, sorry if this has been asked but I couldn't find any similar threads!

I just signed for a 2014 CX-5 GT and I'd like to get a mount for an iPhone 5 for it, mainly so I can use the iPhone as a GPS when I need it (saw the trend of disappointment regarding the integrated TomTom in the tech package and decided not to go that route) and have it in a somewhat visible space. Can anyone recommend a mount option?

Pro Clip (www.proclipusa.com) has two options for the CX-5, on the center dash heating vents and on the pillar to the left of the steering wheel. I've used their stuff on other vehicles and can highly recommend it.

I believe someone on here posted some pics of a mount that is inserted in the CD slot. I don't have it, but if I really needed a mount, that's one I would consider. On the occasions where I do use my phone as a GPS, I sort of wedge it in the storage space in the dash center stack right in front of the gear shift. Not the most visible or audible spot, but it's good enough for the few times that I need to follow GPS.

You are talking about the Mountek cd mount. I have it and I really like it because the phone is at eye level and close to you unlike mounting your phone to a suction cup in the windshield. The bottom part of the mount does block some of the buttons of the screen (I think only the usb/ipod and the settings button) but not a big deal for me. I like it because you can use it in any other car that you have and with any phone or even GPS.

I looked at the mount from ProClip but at $70 it was a no-no and the fact that it was also design just for the CX-5 was kind of a deal breaker.

The mountek is pretty awesome, it's just unfortunate that the thumb screw to tighten it is so obtrusive!
