iPhone 3G compatibility w/iPod Integration Kit?

In the 2010 Mazda CX-9 Accessories brochure, it notes that the "iPhone not compatible" with the iPod Integration kit.

Does anyone have experience with this? What do they mean by not compatible; is it just certain features? And does this apply to all iPhones (in some cars the iPhone 3Gs is not as compatible as the 3G).

And will the bluetooth work when connected to the iPod Integration kit, assuming it can work at all.

it's just the charging feature, since the new iphone charging system has changed from firewire to usb. everything else should work.

The most current iPod Integration kit sold/installed by dealers includes a USB dock connector, not the older Firewire type. So yes, it charges the 3G/3GS while its connected. Just got mine, works as advertised if you can read through Mazda's double-speak on their mazda gear page.
