iOS 8.2 and 2016 USB Connection Problems

:
2020 CX-5
Has anyone who was foolish enough to update their iPhone to iOS 8.2 managed to make a proper USB connection with a 2016 CX-5 with the Bose audio system? The system correctly identifies that I have an Apple device plugged into the USB port but claim there are no playable files on the device. There are in fact several MP3 audio books which played fine until I upgraded to 8.2. I don't fault Mazda for this problem; the same thing happens in my other vehicle, not a Mazda. Again it worked fine until 8.2. I have tried a hard reset of the phone and everything else I can think of, with no success.

Apple won't allow a iOS downgrade. Someone found a work around, but Apple killed it off. There are lots of reports of similar problems on the Apple user forums, covering many different makes of cars. I guess I'll just have to wait for 8.2.1. I copied the audio books to a USB stick and they play fine, though it is less handy that just playing them from the phone.

I haven't had any problems with 8.2 and Mazda Connect system. It has worked well.
I have had problems in the past with various devices being able to play back iTunes on my phone, I have found that it had something to do with iTunes Radio. Once I detached the USB, chose something on either my phone or iCloud, then closed the app, reconnected the USB and played with alternative device controls, it would work. Definitely something to do with Apple and not each system.

I would troubleshoot any settings you have on the phone that would block being able to play (and there are a ton).

iOS 8.3 is out now, and I still haven't any problems with that either.

Just upgraded to iOS 8.3 and it still doesn't work. The system recognizes an iPhone on the USB input but says there are no playable files. If anyone else here has an iPhone, I wonder if they can verify they can make a valid USB connection with the iPhone and the CX-5 Bose system. I have the same problem when I try to connect the iPhone with a Porsche Cayman. I wish Apple would let me go back to 8.1, which connected just fine. The cable connects fine to the computer, so I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.

Thanks.

Actually my iPhone 6 worked better after 8.2 as it reenabled my shuffle button on the nav unit. 8.3 is out and no problems with that either. I was having intermittent USB connection issues in my BMW, but that was cured as well.

Again, I haven't had any problems with iPhone and Connect. Either USB or Bluetooth.
Any way you can find the iOS 8.1 file via the net and downgrade using iTunes for your PC/Mac? (I don't know if this is still do-able.)
Do you know anyone with an iPhone that you can borrow to ensure it may not be your particular iPhone?

Apple killed the ability to downgrade to 8.1--something about driver signing. I've sent feedback to Apple complaining about this and I guess it will get fixed sooner or later. I copied the audiobook MP3's to a USB stick and they play just fine on the CX-5, even remembering where I left off listening, important for audiobooks. Lots of people in my office have various versions of the iPhone, but most have not upgraded to 8.2 or 8.3 yet, but I will check around this afternoon.
