the guy i spoke of doing 49's with the 8 L7 was doing something much more sinister before this.....pushing the 150 mark with a pair of 6x9 woofers (MA Audio) in a ported enclosure in the same vehicle.....he beat a guy at a show in south texas who was running three JL 10W7's....how bad is that? then the guy paid my buddy to rebuild the s*** in the back of the celica he did so poorly in.....it's funny to see Dave (my buddy) going from four DD 9515's to a pair of BY NINES...but he's still beating fools and making numbers....almost got the points for a USAC invite
it's absolutely amazing the SPL you can come up with with the right enclosure
i'm still debating on switching over to a large ported box, and have a port insert for daily driving. once i get the new USB spl meter from term lab, i'll be doing some major changing around to break 150 with my 10
