I've got an interview with a consulting firm for a graphic design position. They are raping me at my current job so i really need this. Also getting this job will provide the means to make my MSP what i want it to be.
Just wanted to see if i could get some eluck from my forum homies.

Good luck man! hopefully you're not nervous... if you are, don't be! lol we tend to take these things WAY too seriously. Just keep your cool, be yourself and you'll land it with ease.

yea i'm not that nervious i do alot of freelance work so i have to meet with people all the time. I am though, very tired. I've basically been up since sunday getting all my portfolio stuff together. I had to rush because i wasnt expecting to get an interview with any companys so quickly.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Look at the interview as a get together with friends, or a lunchin or something and you will do great! People stress about interviews but I always look at them as a time to befriend and get to know my boss'!

Go kick some ass!

you guys rock, i'm gonna knock it out the park, thanks for the support.

Good luck.

I work for a consulting firm as a draftsman / land surveyor / civil eng / field supervisor, its great. Make my own hours, good pay and Ive got business cards to pick chicks up with.

designer to designer...

Good Luck. Your Interview is not about the portfolio its about your composure and confidence of what you have done and where you are going. Don't sweat the details of every project you did. You won't get hired. Let them point out the details, then you emphasize your personal development.

ID vs GD

nailed that s***, i think i'm gonna get it, we'll find out next week. I'll keep ya updated(not that anyone cares)

Yeah, and don't drink a lot of coffee/water before the interview, no one likes a mr. pee pants :) Firm handshake, smile a lot, NO GUM, etc etc... If your stuff looks good, and you interview well, you should be a shoo in. BTW, what are you using right now, software wise?

adobe illustrator, photoshop, indesign, premere(sp?) Marcromedia freehand, fireworks, dreamweaver, flash, director, QuarkXpress, Quicktime, and a few others.

Cool, thanks. She wanted to go pick a few books from B&N and sample software to play around with. She has Maya, but she's not too much into animation, more image manipulation/rendering.
