International Specs?

Hey all, i'm new to this forum, and i'm from Australia so i'm at a double disadvantage. Here goes...

Just want to know how the specs of your p5's stack up against the rest of the worlds...

I've got an Australian spec 2002 SP20 (p5), it's got 98kW (131Hp) @ 6000rpm and 170 - odd Nm of torque...

The Japanese spec Sport 20 has 125kW @ 6500rpm and heaps or torque...

Can anyone enlighten me on the US and Canadian specs of the P5??

Cheers!

130hp and 135lb ft of torque. Although I don't own a P5, I know that the P5 feels considerably better in terms of torque compared to the rest of the cars in it's class here in the states.

Hi Andrew,
My name is Claude from Adelaide. Have you made any mods to yor SP20 yet ?
I've only had a set of headers 4-2-1 put on replacing the Mazda originals. The headers are only at test stage at the moment as Pacemaker Headers had my car for a week esting the best design etc... Our car has two cats and the first was removed as we don't need it in Australia. Apparently for emission regulations in some USA states and japan they do. But removing it so far has improved performance heaps. The dyno shows around 8kw increase and a huge increase in torque of about 20nm so now being 106kw and 194nm. In january when i take the car back with my reports and fuel consumption details etc... there will still be some tweaking, such as a larger second cat and a straight through muffler, which should net some further gains.
Ill post some pics soon of the new headers as well as a dyno reading when everything is finalised in January.
I've also bought a K&N air filter for $95.00 and this has made only a slight difference, but after the huge mode of the headers it's a little hard to tell what the gains have been since.
Seat of the pants driving.....WOW! the gains really are huge. I swear a 0-100 time now from 9.6 to about 8.8. It just accelerates so much smoother and with more grunt. I get from A to B with a huge grin now. The car is so much more credible now against the other hot hatches. And fun to drive. Only a slight increase in noise from under the bonnet but it is worthwhile.
So how is your SP20 holding up so far? How many Km's ? what colour ? have you changed tyres yet ? I have and have put on Federal 195/50 16" - only cost me $105 for each tyre and is quieter than the Toyo's and grips better around the corners.
