finished this before storing the car for winter...It was a first time for me at anything related to reupholstery. I bought some katzkin seat covers and then I reupholstered my door panels. The seats...not that hard, just time consuming. but man, the panels took me forever and has been very hard to get it right! But anyway, let me know what you think:

Not bad for a first timer if you ask me!

Very nice!! is that a RR-racing shifter boot? do you have any pics of the build up of the interior, like from start to finish i want to do mine as well but dont know where to begin, i think the seats will be harder for me, i have done door panels before and they do kinda suck, maybe add a material list for the rest of us,

very nice interior very clean.

I don't know what's the shift boot brand...bought it used on the forums! And unfortunately I do not have any pics of the build up...never thought it would have interested anyone...! The seats are the easiest part if you ask me. You can do it in a day, at least with katzkin seat covers. Door panels are almost impossible to get perfect, they are way too curvy. there is some flaws on mine but they are very small. All you need is time, hog rings with the right tool to install them, some vinyl material for the doors, a heat gun, a good reupholstery glue, some kind of "paddle" to get the vinyl to sit right in the door panel grooves and a sharp x-acto. You must be very careful heating the vinyl as it is very easy to overheat it and then it melts...

cool thanks for the tips, i would love to see post like that, there are to many people who like cars and dont know how to do anything on here, thats one of the reasons after i asked about a body kit i decided to do my own thread. i will try ur technique for the interior, ? though what are hog rings

the shifter knob is from an 03.5 MSP, the boot looks to be from a msm if i remember correctly for boot

here's my 626. but interior wise its pretty much a mx6.

my baby is my mazda6. and this 626 is the beater. but my g/f does drive it a bit, and i wanted it as nice as possible.
here's what i can remember doing. but i probably forgot alot also.

very clean mono! where did you get the bash bulbs from? i want to change mine to adifferant color as well.

ebay in all truth. there all 194 bulbs except a single #74 bulb. i went through two of the #74 bulbs before i finally got a LED one thats decent. i also bought ones that didnt have the single LED as they dont give off enough light. but made sure to get a bulb that had multiple surface mount LED's on each bulb. it turned out well. but i wasnt 100% happy with it and still wanted brighter. so i ordered up a 5 foot section of EL wire and have that behind the gauges also to add even more lighting. i also took reflective metal tape, and covered the back side of my cluster with it so all the light that hits the back is reflected back to the gauge face's.

u can tell i spent a bit too much time doing my gauges. but i just couldnt stand having any darker spots like i see on others projects. so i did everything i could to make sure there as bright as possible.

i originally did my bulbs in a blue LED. but i only had those for probably 3 days. they made my eye's strain on my longer drives at night. so i dont recommend going blue really.

cool thanks, yah i like blue but i have had them as lights as well and didnt care for them as well, for the same reasons as you and the gauges they were lighting were silver in color and the light dulled out the indications, i recently pulled the green light tint out of my golf (oem) i hated it so now its a bright white. ill check into the bulbs as well for my dashe

my fiberglass trunk i made, still waiting for paint, just got the compressor in yesterday

Nice work on interiors here!

I just wanted to show a different view of the gear box without the bag, went for a old school look, it also lights up orange at night with a magnifying lense used from the light cover above. I have also taken done all plastics above belt line to show off the metal, all holes in metal are covered in leather. The things we do with cars. Not letting me do pics for some dumb reason!! They are on my homepage if you want to see them.
