ok to answer a couple questions and comments.
I definitely sanded the s*** out of everything before i did it. The center piece where the shifter is and the little flip up thingy over the cup holders both turned out like s*** the first time i did the coats. Different material maybe? but either way, try to sand that down with as fine sandpaper as possible. OH and trust me I learned the hard way, take your sweet ass time sanding. Call a buddy up, put him on speakerphone and talk about random s*** while sanding cause it goes by faster. OH AND MAKE SURE that you do more coats on the door handles. For some reason, it seems like as the handles dried, they sucked up the paint or something and made it look a little off white. When I did the third coat, it seemed like all the other pieces so i went ahead and added the top coat 15 minutes later to seal it. The nect morning I was like wtf? It doesn't look bad but if i could go back and do it again I would add at least two more coats of the color.
As far as how glossy the finish is, the top coat made it a little bit glossier but its mostly from the paint itself. I used this stuff called ummmm :::goes to check paint can::: Dupli-color acrylic enamel part # DA1670. for the top coat i used the same stuff.
On another note, I definitely thought about painting the pieces black. The thing is that it wouldn't have stood out as much or looked as good in my opinion becuase there are so many pieces surrounding for instance the door handles and the shifter that are black. I just personally feel that way but if i saw it and it changed my mind i'd kick myself in the ass lol. jk.
As far as buying replacements for it, I'm not even gonna worry about that. I decided that this car will be the car that I drive till the wheels fly off and hit a woman in the stands in the face (comedian pun for all those fans out there). But it's my baby and I will try to learn as much as possible about the car as possible, inside and out.
Two reasons why I have the white rims. well actually maybe more than two. Number one, they are remnants of my first car. RIP 96 Dodge Neon. Number two, IMO they are unique especially to the P5. I don't think I've seen white rims on any other P5's (correct me if im wrong). The whole black and white theme does continue with the rims though. THe rotors that are coming are painted black as will be my calipers. I think it'll look damn good.
Well ppl thanks for all the opinions. I love this forum.
