interior A/C Lights

Couple of hotspots but looks better than stock. Your link is backwards, btw. :) The link URL is the displayed text and the text you want pops up as the URL.

Whoops! Thanks for pointing that out -- I'll fix it now.

You're right about the hotspots -- they are on either side behind the gas/temperature gauge and the tach. In order to fix this I need to find those plastic condoms to fit over the LEDs, but the bulbs are a very strange shape so I'm not sure what will fit.

I have a friend that wants to do this mod, so I might be ordering some more bulbs from superbrightleds.com. I'm going to try a few different kinds to see what works best. I'm in Canada, so I have to order $25 minimum to get em shipped up here, which complicates things a bit :bs:

that looks great, i see you put in the one to the right of the tach.
unfortunatley 30 degrees is considered awsome for an LED's range but i think it looks swell.
i could not deal with the green any longer.

So I got the 194's to come on with the 9v & in the map light. Unfortunately, still no love in the cluster and it seems that I have tried every possible position. Any suggestions?

What bulb goes in the keylight?

I think I may just change all the warning lights & such to blue and just keep the overall-red as it is. It will be a red/blue theme as I have the mazdaspeed Kenwood. I wouldn't mind doing gauge overlays, but would have to mess with needles and make a cut-out for the sportmatic display in the cluster (which would probably look ghetto)as well so I don't want to mess with it.

i have a p5 and want to change my gauge lights blue, but from the sound of it, changing them will be pointless because of the red film on the gauge itself. is it worth it or not?

The only way you're going to know for sure is to try it. It's very simple to do, and the bulbs are not expensive at all.

that's weird, i don't see why they don't come on??

the keyhole is a #74.

can someone confirm exactly how many bulbs are needed to do the gauges and the enviromental controls. Also which type of bulbs. Where did you order them from?

This has been covered like three times in this thread. Please read the past pages of info.

Yes there are many lists of bulbs but never one that has all the bulbs needed for the cluster, eviro. controls, key hole light, and map lights. I was just trying to find out so I could post the whole list together so you won't have to search through the entire thread

Keep in mind the MSP has an amber filter built in to the gauge cluster. I have yet to find out a way to use the stock gauges and still get a blue cluster.

Would they shine through slightly purplish? If so that's fine my Blitz BLM gauges have a slight purple to them. Do you have the full list of bulbs needed?

The LED bulbs are different from the stock ones -- they have to all be plugged in properly, otherwise they will not light up. Almost the same as Christmas tree lights.

The easiest way to make sure is to actually leave the cluster plugged in while you are replacing the bulbs. That way you can see right away if the bulb lights up or not.

what about the PRND21 shifter lights in autos? Anyone know how many of what type of LED u need?

Also, for those with proteges that have a keyhole light, When is that light on? Is it on all the time or only when the keys are in or what?

The red film on the P5 gauges is too thick to let ANY blue thru at all. I picked up the 6led 194 bulbs from superbrightleds.com with the assumption that they should be bright enough to at least give me some other color than red (my interior is blue). I was wrong, they dont shine thru at all. You will need to buy new gauges if you want it to be any other color than stock. I found a website with aftermarket gauges for like 30$ (PM me and ill send you the link when i get home, i'm at school now). On the plus side, the big 6led #194 bulbs that i bought fit in my map lights just fine and look bad ass!
