interior A/C Lights

Okay so it sounds exactly the same as mine, which is good.

I'm going to order the blue LEDs from superbrightleds.com right now!

Edit: How many bulbs did you need to do the cluster? And what about the 2 large bulbs?

the two large ones are best to be replaced by polarg 194 bulbs if you dont use LEDs, 194s are what is in those 2 stock and the polarg bulbs are brighter and last longer. red or blue.

I am also curious how many #74 bulbs you need for the gauges besides the 2 194's, i want to do white gauge lighting with blue needles and then I will do the HVAC and keyhole blue to match. Once the deck is replaced I wont have any more orange lighting in my car.

I found the 194's on the Superbright LED's site for the instrument panel, but what ones do I need for the dome light??? I have an MP3

Can anyone with a 3rd gen pro plz post the bulb sizes to change the climate control panel lighting.

sorry, i have not been able to turn my puter on the past couple of days. :(
i am posting on my phone.

the cluster uses two 194s and two 74s. i recomend the 194s with 6 leds in them for the cluster.

the ac/controls uses two 74s
the dome light uses two 194s and one of the long bulbs but the shorter one on the sbleds' web site,
the dome won't be very bright because of the white lense and leds are very narrowly aimed, white is good but any other color and you won't find a penny on the floor.

k, Ill look for the #74's on that site and the Eurolite 6LED 194 bulbs are 7.50 plus shipping on ebay so I will see how that compares to online pricing.

thx again

So 8 bulbs total?
2 194's and 2 74's for the cluster
2 194's for the dome
2 74's for the A/C control
-------------------------------
8 bulbs (4 194's 4 74's)
Am I correct? If so, I'm going to order them now. Thanks.

Also - On the SBLED's website, do I want the T1.5 Instrument Bulb that says it's the #74 type, or the 74 Led Bulb which is flat tipped? Thanks

i didn't know they had the option! i would go with the flat tipped for the 74s, they spread light from the sides.

thanks for the comments everyone.:) i will try to write up a nice HowTo but want to have it as changing all interior bulbs and such.

btw does anyone have a picture of the "curtousy light", my car doesn't have one but i'm curious of the bulb size.

oh yeah, when i measured these in comparison to the incandescent, the draw as little as 1/30 the power,so even with all the bubs on, you draw less than one normal bulb.
just thought i'd share a tidbit for the day.

cheers

delivery time

I was just wondering Pheonix...how long did it take for SBLEDs to ship the lights?

How did you get the gauge cluster apart in the first place to replace the bulbs? I've taken my apart down to the circuit board but I wasn't too sure how much further I could go without breaking something...

sweet job taking it apart, rather hardcore circuits aren't they!?
you don't even have to remove the cluster, just the screws holding it, then you can reach behind and if you know where the lights are, twist them right out. just don't drop them!

SBLeds ships fairly swiftly, not sure about the holidays, but one time i got my package in 2days w\ ground shipping.

i bought some colored sleaves from wal-mart but they were very dim in the cluster. i bet it would look nicer with a black-on-white cluster.

I took my cluster out. My radio trim is off because I'm painting it, which makes it even easier to get to the bulbs in the temp/heating gauge cluster. The black face can come off by pulling up in the top and bottom because they're simply clipped onto the whole cluster. You'll have to pop off the three knobs before it can come off. You'll be able to get at the lights once this is completed.

that is AWESOME
This is the mod for the winter right here
Can't wait till saturday when I can get my hands on them

Phoneix, awesome stuff man
a How to is a definite thing to have!!!

i actually took the AC controls apart to find normal bulbs. but it was a good learning experience.

i would love a way to change the dimmer light but that is an uber tiny bulbn, thought of just jamming a 12v LED into the side.
