Interesting story of what happened to me

Praying wont do a damned thing other than give you a bit of hope. You need to get really proactive. Get your ducks in a row. Make sure you have a good lawyer, and the cash set aside to pay for him or her, the court fees, possible retraining ect..

The other thing they may offer you is accelerated rehabilitation. Basically, what that entails is you being on probation for a good 6 months to a year. After that they look the other way on your record and no ones the wiser. This only occurs for your first offense. You obviously had a slip of judgement mixed with not paying attention. If you really did have a clean record the judge may decide to be lenient and slap the AR on you instead of the fine and let you off with the probation. Mess up again during that probation and theres a good chance your going to jail so keep your nose clean or stock up on soap on a rope.

The Judge yesterday advised me just to talk with the DA and then plead guilty and whatnot. Hopefully, the DA will do something about it and the Judge next wednesday will be nice enough. I know I will be satisfied with probation. Better than anything else.

Well in V-Gay, you would have gotten locked up, heavy ass fines, lost your license and the next time you would have driven a MS3 would be in Need for Speed Carbon :)

No contest is better than guilty. Get a lawyer. I'd rather pay 2k out of pocket than have that on my record. Your going to pay out your ass for insurance if that sticks.

Yeah, I found an on-campus legal aid service that can provide me a lawyer for free. However, I also found a firm with a part-time lawyer that works with a big Firm nearby. Chances are, either way, I will be able to bring a lawyer with me when the time comes.

Whoa, that seems a bit excessive. Idaho is fairly lax with its punishments. $53 for speeding <15 over, double for >15 over. I think if you're more than 30 over it ramps up from there. Good luck though!

I already used my get out of jail card once.

When I was a LOT younger, I went sturgeon fishing on the snake river with a bunch of friends. Got really drunk, drank like a 6 pack of homebrewed double IPA (10% alc.). I then fell in the firepit and burned my hand pretty bad. It hurt so bad I had to get home to get some ice on it or something. Stupid me got in the car and started driving. I had my hand out the sun roof because the wind would make the burn go away. And going faster made it feel better. I was in the middle of nowhere, no cars, long straight away, can see for 10 miles, and just gunned it. Cop was hiding somewhere, caught up with me a couple miles further. He clocked me doing 127 (I thought I was @ 130) in a 65. So, here I am, drunk off my ass, driving 127 in a 65. He asks me how fast I was going, I say 65, he says he clocked me doing 127 and i laughed, told him no, that's impossible, i had the cruise control set to 65. He checked everything out and said have a nice night and drive careful. I had all the empty bottles in my passenger seat too. I was just begging to be thrown in jail.

So, karma says next time I'm ******. (smash)

sorry to hear that!!! I will pray for you!!! I got like 10 tickets like 85 in a 70mph , 60 in a 45mph, 90 in a 70mph, etc never got pull over thanks God but after that i stop driving like an asshole and i realize that i need to drive carefull , well actually if the hwy is empty i speed up but thats only if im alone LOL!!! thats it!! I rather play ps3 need for speed , LOL or formula one LOL

So yesterday, I was with some friends in my MS3 and we were on the highway approaching the exit needed to get off. At this time, I had my foot on the pedal and was going downhill and i approached 105MPH. I then looked at the speedo and was like "Oh s***!" So I slowed down and the wonderful thing happens.

I get pulled over.

Apparently, there was a cop sitting there when I blew by.
Now because I'm originally from NJ and this was in NY and that the violation was serious enough, the officer couldn't give me a ticket on the spot. SO, I had to follow him (nobody in the car knew stick or one knows little) to the local town court and the judge slammed me with a $655 fine and I don't know of the points on the license, but I said that I didn't have the money, so I had to be held in the local jail. I had my friends try to bail me out and when they came back with nothing, I eventually called up my parents and they bailed me out with my mom's emergency credit card.

So, I have to appear in court on the 18th to try to reduce the fine and whatnot.

I know it was a stupid thing I just did and it was very reckless and wrong of me. At least, I know for sure that I won't be doing this again.

<puts flamesuit on>

Hey it happens to the best of us. And I'm not gonna lie to you, I've gone a good bit faster in this car. Yeah It's not smart, and I carefully choose when and where to open it up, but it's so easy in a car like this. If I drove like grandma everyday, I'd buy a corolla or civic. Now, don't take this as
a green light to drive irresponsibly however there's no reason you can't play the game too..... get yourself a good radar detector. And don't pick up some cheap $90 POS either. Yeah it'll cost more but pay for itself in no time.

Yeah, currently I have the Cobra XRS9730 which is pretty decent, but I also will look into the V1 as well.

BUMP

Just had court yesterday. The DA was reasonable and lowered the fine from 100/65 to 90/65 and it comes to $255 dollars, but also 6 points on the license.

BAH! At least I know I will be taking defensive driving courses to get rid of those points.

Just thought I would let you guys know.

jesus... 6 points?? I ended up with 5 for doing 47 over...

ofcourse I also had my license suspended...

DEFINATELY take defensive driving, and make sure you keep it uptodate.

Wow. They spanked your pp. I wouldn't change insurance company's for a good long while now.

I got pulled over when I was 17 or 18 doing 80mph in a 40 zone. The cop started talking to me about my work and my plans for the prom. He let me off with a verbal warning.

Second time I got pulled over was when I was 18, doing 75 in a 35. Again, the cop let me go with a verbal warning.

After that, I decided that my luck would surely run out the next time, so I quit speeding from then on. Clearly I was an idiot when I was that age.

i got a verbal warning today for ~60 in a 40. he didnt shoot radar just saw me pass by and said i was going about 60, which i was. so i guess he gave me the verbal warning because he didnt have a solid reading on my speed. but are verbal warnings recorded or not? as in if i get pulled over again will it have a flag that i received a warning already?

Hmmmmmm.... I got stopped for street racing in my long departed Integra, $1200 poorer when everything was said and done. And my license suspended for 30 days. (ricer)

No-- that's why they're verbal warnings and not written warnings.

unless you are truly unlucky and get pulled over by the same cop, you should have no record of that warning. (trust me tho, they will remember you, I have a speeding ticket to prove it)

i wasnt sure if it was city specific. i am a criminology major in school and know that police officers have to write a report for everything they do so i wasnt sure if it would affect my driving record or not.

i am in my 17-year-old-dumb-ass-speeding-stage right now. i really try to not do it to often because i know it can really screw you over, but sometimes its just too hard to resist.
