Interesting flat tire

So I went to go get my flat fixed today and what a surprise. When the guy was fixing the flat he came out to show me what the culprit is, and low and behold it was a drill bit. I'm nut sure what size it was but it was like .5 cm wide and about 7 cm long. I was like :wtf:. I never expected that. And off course it had to be on my brand new Yokohama Parada spec 2. Well, $15 later it's good as new.

Same thing happened to my dad one time, but it was a screw driver Shattered the plastic handle, and he kept hearing the clicking sound. He's still got the thing in the garage somewhere too

got it fixed at Pep Boys actually. It was a pain in the ass to find someone to work on my wheel because its 17" aftermarket. And one place quoted me 30$.

I actually got the flat while coming home from school. Felt all ghetto like riding home with aftermarket rims and a tiny ass dinky spare.

the way that pep boys and any other tire store repairs tires incorrectly and not safely....

i would be weary of driving on that tire with that horse hair plug in it....

discount tire is the only tire company that does repairs that are approved by the RMA..... which is the Rubber Manu. Association....

i would explain on how discounts repairs are better but i need pictures to show you....

if you go to discount tire they will explain to you why....

i cant tell you how many times per day i have people come in with tires that exploded from improper repairs.....

and once you drive in the rain or on water ... the moisture will enter the area where the steel cords are and will damage the tire from the inside out....

your speed rating on your tire has also now been lowered ... i would not drive faster than 85 on that tire ....

you are pretty much driving on a ticking time bomb.. you will never know when it will blow up...

well that is better than a horse hair plug but it still can cause a separation in the tire from moisture

I love them, there was hardly any change in road noise from stock and they stick to the road like crazy. And they are great in the wet too, there is like no peeling out what-so-ever and reduces hydro-planing a lot. I personally love them.

spend your money on a tire that has better quality...

well my qualifications is that i have been dealing with tires for over 2 years now....

i have meet many people that hate parada's ... and i have seen it first hand on how poorly built they are...

they wear really poorly..... once you get past 75% tread wet traction goes down the drain...
discount tire host a thing every year called the ride and drive and they compare tires.... on wet and dry.... parada's were on the bottom of the list with bfg scorcher t/a's



my reccomendation depends on what your looking for ... let me know what your looking for and ill direct you towards the right direction....

did tire rack do this test or is it customer feed back...

if you drove on a different brand tire you would be able to tell why i say parada's are crap...

i have had 6 sets of tires on my car...

i work with tires everyday...

and if you want to waste your money on crap and youdont mind that that is the only thing that keeps your car on the road then thats your problem....

im just trying to help people out in making good decisions

yeah tirerack conducted the experiments themselves. There are charts and stuff on there website. I'm not saying I'm an expert or anything or if this tire is gonna suck after a while of treadware, all I can comment on is how they are doing now. And so far they are performing great.
